After browsing through my DPA guide, I found some systems very interesting, for one is the CD32, it seems to have a large selection of games, and all are affordable, but it seems ebay is basicaly wiped clean of anything dealing with this system, so does it ever show up once in awhile?

Next is the CD-i, I was totaly overwhelmed by the amount of different models! any advice on which model is best just for the gaming aspect? Also how often do these systems show up on ebay?

Next is the one I am most curious about, NUON. I love how the library is so small, and I want to play tempest 3000 badly, but once again it seems ebay is clear of any NUON games, how frequent do they show up?

Also do CD32, CD-i, and NUON all have separate wireless controllers you must buy?

Thanks on any info, I find all 3 of these systems highly interesting!

I'll take the NUON question :)

If you decide on getting a system, go for the Samsung DVD-N501. It's the only one of the US systems that can play the homebrew games that are out there and still in development. Yes, it has the small library but some of the games fetch a good dollar, most notably Iron Soldier 3 and The Next Tetris.

Games show up on eBay once in a while, just keep your eye on the auctions and you'll turn them up. Good luck!

BTW, DragonShadow Industries released 2 screenshots of their NUON game in development a few days back. Check 'em out:

Oh, and no wireless controllers were ever released for NUON. One was in development, the AirPlay from Eleven Engineering (http://www.nuon-dome.com/aplaypre.html), but NUON went under before it was ever released. I wonder if any prototypes were ever made. You'll find plenty of wired controllers on eBay, though, and they have nice long cords (around 10' each), so plenty of room to move around.

One thing to also remember is that Ebay is not the only place to find this stuff. Another place to check is Nuon Dome, home of everything to deal witht the Nuon. You might be able to score a deal with a forum member, or know where to find a good deal. Obviously, there is also the buying and selling section of this site, a place I like to go to when dealing with things hard to find. Yes, Ebay carries rare items, but relying on it heavily will only dissapoint you in the end...trust me on that one!

I just checked out your site K3V and I must say it was very informative and well put together, and watching the videos of tempest 3000 make me want a nuon even more! I also love the fact that there are so few games on the system, makes it unique, and they all seem fun to play.

Ill definitly go and make a new topic in the buying and selling forum to see if anyone can offer me up anything :)

Finding Tempest 3000, Freefall, Merlin Racing or Ballistic shouldn't be too hard. Space Invaders is a little trickier, but not impossible. Getting Iron Soldier 3 or Next Tetris... that's the real hunting territory.

I'm lucky to have IS3 (shrinked still actually)... still looking for a copy of Next Tetris though.

Best controller is the Stealth imo, should be able to find them on eBay. They are shaped (and equipped) just like N64 pads.

N501 is the best for US people to get; N504 is the best for Europeans but it's very hard to locate.

Don't be fooled by the relatively large amount of games for the CD32, most are pretty bad ;) Also there are only two different controllers for the CD32, the official one and a 3rd party one that looks a lot like the Genesis controller. So no wireless I'm afraid.

You might want to consider getting a PAL machine, as all consoles can be switched to NTSC (temporarily only though) with an Amiga mouse.

Awesome! Hopefully you turn one up, it's worth it for T3K alone, IMO.

If you go and type in Philips CDI it will come up with a bunch of different types of the systems and the games and extra's. I think that the 220/57 is the better of the systems. It is a very nice system with alot of very good games. Alot of the systems come with a wireless controller. If you have any other questions about it just pm me and I will answer them.

The NTSC machines can be switched to PAL as well. But he's probably better off picking up a PAL machine as they're a lot easier to find. LOL

Has nobody found a "Macrovision off" code for the N-501?
