So my old junk ps2 still has it's old problem..but I'm starting to think it's something with the video out freezing. Is there any particular known flaw that would make an early run ps2 video out freeze fairly randomly? It ALMOST seems like it gets better with heat, ie, after it warms up it will do it less.

Once it gets running a game without freezing within 5 minutes or so, it'll play for hours with no problem...

I am hoping there's a fuse or something like that...alternatively could I maybe try to tap into the video signal earlier than the port and just make yellow/red/white plugs on the thing? Or maybe, where and how much to get a new motherboard?

sorry to ask again about basically the same problem...it's been months and months since my last topic on this though.

Have you tampered with it prior to this? Many 'net' fixes actually cause this problem. :/

Actually, it had this symtom before i got it. It was given to me because the video would occasionally freeze up like that.

The weird thing is it doesn't even have a DRE....

The only things I've done to it as per suggested online was to fiddle with the laser intensity screws a little bit, which seems to have not really changed much of anything far as i can tell.

Now that you've done that, I can't help. It's all off baseline now, too many variables.

Ah, understandable. Thanks for the input of course.
