I know there isn't a lot of those in Japan, but is thre any must-have imports for the Xbox? The only one I can think of is Metal Wolf Chaos, but that is it....

So, Any suggestions?

Thanx

that one's pretty lame but funny though...

think of this way if the titles came out in Japan and later released in US/Europe you can bet the later release would have some kind of censorhip/editing...

I've been collecting JPN Xbox titles for some time now - have around 20+ titles so far - and some of them are duplicates but have things add'd or unedited... :p

plus there are fair number of dating sims for Xbox if you are into that sort of genre...

I'd say one title worth to pick up just for the curiosity sake would be N.U.D.E. box set... pretty hard to come by compared to normal release but usually comes with promo DVD as well...

have a look at my collection page for some of them... :D

I have a very limited understandoing of japanese so dating sims could be hard to play for me. I had heard of N.U.D.E and thought it was a game i'd look at eventually.

Any more suggestions?

The Shikigami No Shiro games for Xbox would be a good import. The import scene for XBOX IMO is pretty sad, as virtually everything decent was released domestically....

Are there any games for the Xbox which were released in America, but not the UK? I can't think of any offhand...

Anything decent? I just bought a Blue Canadian Halo II Xbox, but now need some games to play on it - But don't really want to be buying games which are available here if I can help it, as there's not really much point.

Any decent LE's or box-sets which were released, apart from Doom III and Halo II?

Why do I have the feeling that N.U.D.E sounds a lot like Seaman for DC but with a female companion instead of a fish? :)

As for the strategy games.... I suppose you need a good knowledge of japanese to play? I do like to play those from time to time... what's the best in that category?

i too think n.u.d.e. will be like seaman on dc down the track - now xbox will be discontinued shortly...

at least with n.u.d.e. we have pretty looking robot rather than creepy fish/man thing.. :p

for strategy/sim yes you do need some knowledge of Japanese since you need to understand the purpose of campaign... Daisenrakyu VII [US] be the good choice if you are into RTS and given its limited run in us release i'd say if you see one pick it up...

Sentou Yousei Yuki Kaze is like AirForce Delta II but with strategic element thrown in and in Flight Academy you do get flying Jumbo passenger jets... :) CAT and GA are tactical sim based on the same name anime - or the other around?

The action/rpg Magatama got decent reviews, but I've never played it.

Just about every JP Xbox title that looked like it might not make it to the US did (Phantom Dust, Otogi 1&2), so it's hard to recommend many imports for it.

Magatama is decent albeit bit by the book...
I have both JPN and Asian releases for some reason... O_O

Hm...worthy Xbox imports... Maybe it's a good thing I read this thread. I ended up buying a Korean Halo edition Xbox not too long ago from a local game store...maybe I should go looking for some of these games...

Korean Xbox is NTSC-J so you should have no trouble running JPN as well as Asian releases...

I'm sure that the Shikigami No Shiro games are excellent on Xbox, but it's worth noting that both were released in the U.S. for the PlayStation 2.

Mobile Light Force 2 (U.S. PS2) = Shikigami No Shiro (the first one) (JP DC? Xbox?)
Castle Shikigami 2 (U.S. PS2) = Shikigami No Shiro 2 (JP Xbox, DC)

The confusion arises with "Mobile Light Force 2" being the U.S. version of the first Shikigami No Shiro, since XS Games brought over Gunbird (JP Saturn, PS) as "Mobile Light Force".

There may be an argument for importing them, though, if there are cutscenes in the JP versions that were deleted in the U.S. versions. I know that XS Games removed all of the Gunbird cutscenes when they released it in the U.S. as Mobile Light Force. I don't know, however, if there were cutscenes in either of the JP Shikigami games, or, if there were, whether they were deleted from the U.S. PS2 releases.

Captain Wrong? Amplification? Correction?

Not sure about the issue of cutscenes for Shikigami... I would like to point out that Gunbird 1 & 2 were released for the PS2 in both PAL/NTSC-J. It's called "Gunbird 1&2" in Japan, "Gunbird Special Edition" in PAL. I've played the Japan release and it's got all the original cutscenes...

Magatama sells for super cheap, but haven't played(seen for ~$10 new, in Japan).

Hello Kitty: Mission Rescue is Asia only, I believe, but is likely not your bag ;)

Another XBox-only shooter is Psyvariar 2. I like shooters, but I haven't played this on the XBox since i'm not much of a fan of the arcade version.

in Japan they also released Shikigami No Shiro Evolution Red and Blue versions.
Not sure they are LE or not but the one I saw were packaged with bonus CD...

I'm planning to pick up both next time I visit there

It's also available for JP Dreamcast. :)

A little late to the party here but....two Xbox imports worth checking out aren't from Japan but rather England:

CONAN -- Pretty decent, has music from the movie, involved story, good stuff if you're a fan of the character. Never got a release in the states.

KNIGHTS OF THE TEMPLE -- Good looking hack 'n slash adventure game.

Picked them up together off Ebay for I think $40 shipped combined to the US. Not sure if there's anything else out there other than that, however!

There's another one Yager(?) that only released in PAL.
For Knight of the Temple I wasn't that impressed tbh.
Haven't played Conan though...

Yager -- the sci-fi flight game? Believe it or not that DID get released here, I believe it was even as recent as a year ago.

I noticed the port of the PC game GHOST MASTER got a release overseas as well, but never materialized here, either.

hmm...
interesting. I remember reading an article that one got canned for release in NTSC-U though that was early last year...

maybe it did get released after all...

Can anyone recommend any good shooters? I like games with thousands of bullets and such that need to be dodged. :D

If you're into RPGs check out Shin Megami Tensei Nine.
