I've got an SMS emulator and it's AWFUL. The sound is just terrible ear-screeching stuff and many of the games - I'd daresay MOST of them - have issues of one kind or another.

The NES emulation I've tried on PSX was via one of those Game Doctor thingies that plug into the back - I can check on the name of it. It sounded great, even had emulation for Game Gear and Game Boy... and it's AWFUL. Mainly speed problems on that one, everything is just SO SO SLOW.

I can do a little more research, maybe bust 'em out again but I know that I put them to bed pretty quickly so as not to aggravate myself. Fortunately the DC emulation came along soon and moved forward quickly and I soon forgot about the weak PSX attempts.

Well, for one thing you're going to need a modded PSX to play homemade emu CDs. And getting an official PSX disc press kit would cost more than it's worth for emulating.

Maybe you're thinking of emulation for DC? www.dcemulation.com as just about any DC can play CD-Rs without any special hardware or mods.

Wow ! You guys were quick to reply.
ok I'll start with saying that my psx IS modded and plays cd-r stuff quite well. But it sounds like the quality of these things isnt that great.
I downloaded something off Kazaa that was labelled (psx)100 sega games.
It came in a zip file and what was in it was 2 files one called "sega.bin and another called "sega.cue".
If anyone knows how to turn this into a psx disc i would like to give it a try.
I would also like to know what machines can be emulated well on dc as if there is good ones i will buy myself a cheap dc.
Thanks for the help so far people.

Don't even bother with the PSX SMS emulator, it REALY SUCKS!!!
The sound is PAINFULL to hear, and the few games I tried ran VERY slow, about half speed!

Well well well,
That's 100% of people telling me not to bother with it.
But i still want to try it for myself even if just to see the games on a big screen again because all the pc emus have tiny screens.Unless someone knows an sms emu for the pc that you can put itr full screen mode without losing any graphic qualities.Any ideas? :-( :-( :-( :-(

Have you tried MEKA? It has a full screen mode. So does MESS, but that's a little trickier to set up. You should find links to both of these sites (and all of the US ROMS) by following the "Emulators" link at http://www.digitpress.com/index2.htm

Now then, if you're still sure about going forward with your PSX, here's what you need to do next.

That .cue file is loadable in CDRWin, though I couldn't tell you which version you need to open it. Put both files in the same folder, open CDRWin, then open the .CUE file. That file contains the information for burning the CD properly.

Finally, get yourself a pair of ear plugs and maybe sunglasses. Because the assault on your senses is not about to be a good one.

Let us know how it turned out.

There is a NES emu for PS1, it is called "It Might Be NES (IMBNES)" I'll try to find a link.

Does a nice job at full screen SMS emulation on the PC as well:
