Wow man. Great story and an equally amazing collection! I have never even seen 75% of those consoles. Truly amazing.
I also got into collecting in a weird way. In 2002 I had a PS2,N64, and SNES, but I only had a few games for each system, and I definatley wasn't a collector. That Christmas I bought my GF a NES (which is what she asked for). We broke up only a few weeks before Christmas, and she told me she didn't want it because it was too expensive, so like any smart person, I kept it for myself. After we broke up I got pretty damn depressed, and NES collecting/playing was something that really helped me feel better. I started out buying all the games from my childhood, but soon realized I wanted every game ever released for the NES. I have since become addicted to buying all things NES related (especially Nintendo signs/display from that Era). For some reason I just get a great feeling from looking at them, and it really brings me back to when I was a little kid going to Toys R Us.
Not even 3 years later, my gameroom looks like a museum (according to friends), and some of them say things like "haven't you gone a little far with this whole Nintendo thing". I still love Nintendo more than almost anything, and I really don't think I'll ever stop.
Well, that was my little story, and it was also my longest post on this site by far.
Damn... I'm starting to feel like Anthony1. LOL

That's one of the best collections of systems i've ever seen. I too have never heard of a decent amount of those systems. I enjoyed reading your story as well.

I may be interested in one or two of your systems. Are you selling everything one by one or in bundles?

I envy your collection of consoles, though I would suggest you change the title of this post to Ultimate Console Collection. You have an unprecedented amount of console systems, but others have far more impressive collections of games. :embarrassed:

If you're going for a good consoles collection, you're missing a LOT of blatant variations. Offhand - Columbia house Atari, Gemini, Telegames 4 switch, telegames 6 switch, Intellivision 2, Intellivision 3, etc... etc...

Thats freaking SWEET! :rocker:

I've always wanted to see what some of those obscure consoles looked like. 8-)

Edit:
I think theres a problem with some of your pictures.
If you click on the "Amiga CD32" picture, it takes you to the "Commodre 64 GS" picture.
Just thought I'd let you know ;)

CPS Changer - coolness.

I'm definitely also interested in an upcoming list of games for the systems... especially the more obscure ones.

I think you missed the title of my collection..."UNIQUE Consoles". Variations dont count. Although there are a lot of cool variations out there, I was not collecting variations, just unique consoles.

Thanks for pointing out the incorrect link...If anyone comes across any more link problems, let me know and I'll fix them.

Also, I thought that I'd clear up that I do want to sell the collection as a lot. I am willing to split it up if no one can jump on the whole thing, but that will be a long time from now, I don't really have time to individually sell each system off.

There's no way on earth I would ever get rid of something as beautiful as the Twin Famicom. I would seel my soul for that baby. Yes I would.

So, what does everyone think the value of this collection is??? I wouln't hesitate to pay $2000 for it but I'm sur it's worth two-three times as much, maybe more??? hat do you think,; it's tough to price some of those oddities...which are the most valuable???

What exactly is that CPS Fighter thing? It says it's a SNES controller, but is listed as a system?

Aaahhh! So you're the reason I stopped finding cool stuff in the Tacoma/Seattle thrifts around 2001 :) Awesome collection, great story, and good luck!

BTW- how is having a keyboard on, say, a C64 detrimental? And how would you classify systems that otherwise meet your computer definition but *don't* have extensive libraries of non-game titles? I'm thinking of systems like Mattel's Aquarius and the Tomy Tutor.

The CPS Changer on top of the boxes is essentially a "console" that plays CPS2 arcade boards. For inputs, it uses SNES ports to allow use the SNES Capcom sticks (which are shown in their boxes below the actual console).

The tomy tutor HAS a console variation...the Tomy Pyu-Ta Jr...same with the 64 = Commodore 64 Game System (C64 GS)...as for the aquarious, that was marketed non stop as a cheap personal computer...If it weren't the C64 GS and the Pyu-Ta Jr, there could be an argument made for the C64 and Tutor.

WIth games, try adding a zero then doubling...the A'Can fun-tech alone is worth an incredible amount.

I know most of those sytems can be had for below $200, many for less than $50. The Funtech I have no clue about because it cannot be found. I've also never seen any of the Epoch's, Ingersoll, or Casios' on ebay. I've seen a couple of the Hanimex systems, they don't go for much. The Marty and Pippin aren't too bad (more than one model on the Marty?). It's just tough to tell. A dozen or so of these systems are uncollectable since you cannot find them....

A very nice collection. Curious to see what it goes for. There are some rarities there, although $40K might be a stretch unless it is parted out and auctioned on Ebay. Most of the Japanese stuff is surprisingly easy to find (or was anyway) on Yahoo.JP auctions. I know the Funtech is valuable, but I've just never been interested in it. It reminds me too much of a Hong Kong console knockoff.

i dont begin to guess what the value of half of that shit is, but $40,000 seems like an awfully liberal estimate...even with the games.

for that link to work, replace the ...

so it reads washington.edu/nob/collection

Such an awesome console collection but (excluding the games for those rare systems), a rather miserable game collection. Only a hanful of SNE and GENNY games...? You took a truly different direction with your collection than most others seem to have....still cool and all though...
