I had one of these in a hotel in february. I made sure to write down all the model numbers of the TV and controller and such. I have the note somewhere. Write all this down and we can compare notes if ya want. :)

i you would be willing to take one of these from the room i would pay you for it. talk to the management and see if theyll sell you a controller if you are afraid of stealing one. should be a $29.99 fee for removal from the room. i would be very happy if i could buy one of these, as i already have the n64 type controller and theyd look cool next to one another.

provided it is as i think it is(a standard ps1 controller with a phone cord attached to it instead of a ps1 connector, and possibly some mods to the bottons?)

I'm sure it'd be a hefty fine...the n64 one was run by lodgenet, and i is impossible to order these units from them unless you are a hotel. The only way to get one is to "buy" them off of a hotel.

So, for the hardcore collector, you're going to have to steal a TV. Some hotels may just let you buy them. Note that the price for stealing the controller is right on it: $29.95. Usually there is a price like this for any item in a hotel. They don't care if you steal...they just charge you for it.

But for a TV...I dunno, some may be cool with it, some may not. You could ask...but they'd know you were full of shit if they said no and then you later stole it and made up a bullshit story about how your friend who stopped by took it and you wanted to do the responsible thing and pay for it. I would imagine those special TVs would cost from $250-$500.

Arn't most of the tv's in hotels pretty securly attached to the table or cabinate that they are in? It seems like you would almost need a full tool kit just to be able to pick it up. Then how would you explain carrying it out the front door? LOL

my understanding of the lodgenet system was that it was more of an online system that then connected you to a server to play the games. as i recall the lodgenet TV was simply a tv with ports in the back to accept the modified controllers. i dont think stealing the tv would allow access to the displayed games, somewhat like stealing a tv hooked up to a cable box and expecting to get free HBO.

That is correct. Then again SNES or Genesis modems and things like that don't work anymore, yet people still collect them. That's all I was getting at. For some, it's all about having what the other collectors don't.
