Neither do I. Never played one, probabley never will. I think that most of the people who play for many hours on end most likely have some kind of disorder.
I remember last year someone bought an Island in some online game, and it cost him $20,000+. Truely sad.

I played PSO back on DC and I really liked it, but I still couldn't fathom the amount of time people spend on these games... like 8-12 hours a day, that's just pathetic. Or people paying real money for higher-level characters or equipment...

Another board I post at has been pretty much overrun with WoW posters, and the amount of interest they have in all the minuta in the game brings new meaning to the term "geek".

I think it's part the desire to be the strongest character in the world, which can be accomplished given enough time, unlike in the real world.

Also, it's the "carrot on a stick." Just a few more battles to level 13 and whatnot.

Me, I need a goal. Getting more powerful/better weapons for the sole purpose of getting still more powerful/better weapons isn't enough for me. Even the big quests, if 40 of us go and kill the super dragon, it's not like the world is rid of it for good and you are a hero. It'll respawn for the next band of questers, right?
