BZX79-B11

I need this diode to be a zener but the results I find on that part number are very confusing.

Is this a zener diode ?

It comes up as both types with the same name..

here

http://www.chipdocs.com/pnsearch/search.html?partid=125453

and

http://www.datasheetarchive.com/search.php?search=BZX79&sType=part

All I need to know if its a zener equivalent at 11V.

I converted a SONY PVM-20N5U to RGB inputs by repopulating the boards with the missing parts. The sony PVM-20N6U has RGB but boards are same in both monitors just some of the circuit is unpopulated. So I just added the necessary components and enabled the RGB lines on the main board.

This zener diode is all that I need.

The original sony zener is MTZJ-T-77-11A and I have a BZX79-B11 by Phillips I believe.

I need to know if they are both equivalents.

Thanks

By looking at the datasheets, the Sony part seems to have zener voltage of 10.18-10.71 whereas the Philips has 10.80-11.20 so it's not equivalent.

Whether it would do the trick, I don't know. Since you've come this far you might as well shop around for a more suitable replacement.
