I recently won an ebay auction with this game (Fur Fighters, Dreamcast) included... but I have never seen the hologram variation before.
The hologram is the same image as the manual's cover, except of course holographic. It seems to be just stuck on the front of the case with some adhesive striping.
I was just wondering if anyone has come across this and has information on it (print run, rariety, etc).
thanks guys.

Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever seen a copy of this without the holographic cover. Still nice to look at though.

Same here, did it come without the holo cover?

mine has the holo...its sweet...i guess if the original case broke or sumthin, and the guy put it in a new one, thats why you might not have it...if you do in fact, not have it.

Actually, it was released without the holographic cover for a while... most likely a 2nd production run with lower expenses. I remember seeing it.

LOL I figured it may be something like that. I had never seen an actual case until now. Just disc onlys at gamestop :/
Thanks for the replies.

It isn't really a holograph, it is more of one of those moving picture things. Zelda: Majora's Mask for the N64 had one too, and so did the back of WWF Wrestlemania 2000 (I *think*) for the N64.

Hmm. I thought they were ALL that way! Now I've gotta hunt the non-holographic version...

I've seen both, but I'd always assumed that someone had removed the hologram thingee (same thing for Space Channel 5 - unless I misremember).
Any definite knowledge that these are two separate print runs?

I believe that there were, in fact, two print runs of this with and without. The reason I believe this is because that I have seen many, many more copies of this game used without the moving picture thing than with it, even from people who had everything else perfectly complete and original. It wouldn't make sense to me that they were all changed later on.
The problem is that the 'difference' is literally only the moving thing being glued to the case. To get the variation, one would only have to replace the case with another one and transfer the instruction manual. All of the booklets themselves are normal.

I had forgotten all about Space Channel 5's moving picture cover. Anyone know any other Dreamcast games that have this kind of cover?

Just those two AFAIK.
