Looking for a decent glass display case to hold 10-15 games (boxed DW4, FF2, Gitaroo man, loose power lords, glib, video jogger/reflex, etc...) Basically the rarest games I have for each system. Maybe even 20-30 games, some with boxes, some without, ALL different sizes.

Any ideas? since it's holding a reasonably small amount of games, I would like it reasonably small, not a retail store sized case, but not a "football" or jewelry sized case either...

Go to a baseball card show in your area. They have all sorts of stuff like that.

Try a store that is going out of business. Most stores will be selling the "fixtures" when they go out of business. You can find listings for these types of sales in the classifiedes on a weekly basis.

Hmm I go searching ebay to look for one of those but have never found one that was in good condition, unless one of the samller kind that are listed would do.

My ex-employer tried to give me, fo FREE, a large antique display case. It was one of those big glass ones with a sloping front and 3 or more glass shelves in it. It was in such awsome condition...I think I may ask him if its still in his way. :-P

Try IKEA. Ive seen glass display cases there. They have one thats very tall but only maybe 2 feet by 2 feet at the base, so youd be able to put lots of stuff in it but it would have a small footprint.

Any chance you could find that for me? I checked around their website but couldn't find any. I normally avoid Ikea like the plague, but in this case they could be what I need.

As for stores going out of business, classifieds, and baseball card show type things - I live in the middle of NH. It would be at least a 1.5 hour drive to anything even remotely resembling anything like this. Yes, I mean 1.5 hours to get to a store going out of business too.

I needed one for myself for some gaming conventions I am planing on going to this year. :)

I swear by IKEA for game storage, and I would suggest the DETOLF glass door cabinet. It is $59. Dimensions are W16 3/4 x D 14 3/8 x 63 3/4 (inches). There are four levels in the case. I think that is the case that chris is referring to. There are two other models with nicer materials for $99, and $169, but the $59 would work the best for displaying games IMO.

Those dimensions sound about right, so that may very well be the case to which I was referring.

Ikea's website is not a good resource, as they don't show most of the stuff available in their stores. You shoudl try to get your hands on a paper catalog, or drive to one if there is one anywhere near by. If you are still in need of a case in the next few weeks, I may be going to Ikea after I move, and I could bring my digicam and snap some pics for you.

The closest Ikea to me is about 4-5 hours away according to their store map. So if it's not online, it's not coming to my house :)

Many times flea market vendors buy out liquidated stock of retail stores that have gone out of business. Their stock at their booth is sometimes primarily made from those purchases.

Often they get a dozen or two cases they won't use and put into storage that they would love to dump off cheap.

Thus just go to the flea market and look for someone selling bulks of "new" stuff, but not korean or cheap looking, you know stuff out of stores.

GOOD LUCK!!
