If I liked FF7 and had that kinda of money to waste I'd probably be all over this. But $350+ is steep.

Come on now. Its not like its not a One-of-a-kind (well at least the auction is saying it is). I've seen some stuff that isnt quite as cute as that still sell for inordinate amounts of moola from time to time (Lunar's Naal plushie comes to mind).

Umm.. it IS a one of a kind. Ufocatcher.com is a community of well... seamtresses (and seamsters?) that produce custom made videogame and anime plush characters. I think to have one made for you you sign up on a waiting list and are expected to pay something like $200 for your "own". But they're excellent quality.
Much better then the Nall. (As much as I adore mine).

I would never pay that much even for an officialy liscenced plush, and this one might be one of a kind because no one is crazy enough to spend $350 on a handmade plush.

Someone did... that's what kinda makes it a hand made one of a kind. It's kinda like me having the nerve to slap some paint on a canvas and sell it for $500. Both creations take skill, talent, and time. When they're done, if they're done right they're considered works of art.
Besides one well made plush is more expensive to make then a factory produced run of thousands. Because that single sale has to cover the cost of materials, and your time. Not to mention someone's also paying for your skill. Afterall if just anyone tried to make one it would look like shit.

Damn, I wanna take up sewing.
I keep trying to talk my wife into sewing cosplay outfits heh.
One of these days she'll give in, make a ridiculous profit, and be hooked heh.

I dont think anyone could just make this and make money. I think the name also have something to say, like art. And it isnt even legal to make trademark stuff yourself and sell it.

I actually really like it.. but I like $350 more.
I personally would buy it @ $45-50 + cheap shipping.
I like one of a kind things, and if you look at the pictures, a lot of thought and care went into this doll..

Hm... wow.
The original creator of that plush is the charaplush.com person... I think that if I were to buy a custom plush from someone, it would be this person.
The reason they go for so much is that very few of the original creations were sold... I think.
I'd probably plonk down $350 for the plush Seymour. ;) not sure about the other ones though.
The person is a professional... not just some otaku at home with a sewing machine. Mad props. Check out the website. :)

To each their own. some would say that gamers are insane for spending hundreds of dollars for sealed copies of games which as essentially just peices of plastic.

I remember when there was a custom made Crono plush that was on ebay a year or two ago (I'm sure most people here saw it). I think it sold for like $40 - $60 or something like that...and I thought that was pretty steep for a plush doll. Sheesh. :/

One of a kind Cloud Plush with the Plush Buster Sword from the Kingdom Hearts game on Playstation 2.
WTF? kingdom hearts? :hmm:
anyways, it is good, but definetly not $350 good. i can see that nobody else thought it was either, the auction got no bids.

WTF? kingdom hearts? :hmm:
That plush is based off of how Cloud looks in Kingdom Hearts, not how he looks in FFVII
If you've never happened to play through Kingdom Hearts before, Cloud makes an appearance in the colosseum area of the game where you can fight him as a boss. Towards the end of the game...you can even come back to the colosseum and fight Sephiroth, and I've seen plushies based off of him from Kingdom Hearts as well.

I really feel as if we're in total agreement here. Anyway, back to searching for rare pieces of plastic with metal inside of them.

I got Achi a custom plush of her FFXI character last year from someone from ufocatcher (BabyLondonStar, I think it was). Cost me significantly less than $350, that's for sure.

That you can stick into another piece of plastic for hours and hours of enjoyment. What do you plan to do with your cloth and thread?
