View Full Version : How long has EA used custom wrapping?

Simple topic; Xbox only. A few days back, I carefully (dunno why, just wasn't in any hurry) took the wrapping off from around Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, not tearing any of it, and set it aside. I beat Jade Empire last night and when I went to put that back I thought I had the wrapping for it - then I noticed the "Disc made in Mexico" sticker and the EA logo on the bottom of the folded wrapper. So it appears that, unless the store sells you the last display copy, a new copy of the game will have this semi-special wrapper. Sure, it's basically the wrapper for a package of crackers, but it might be nice to keep ahold of. Anybody else noticed this?

I don't know but I do know that I don't like EA's actions lately.

Also, what is that in your Avatar. I've been wondering this for a very long time but just haven't asked. It looks like some kind of alien girl with her blond hair on her neck, a weird tentacle thing coming out of the right side of her head and her arm is raised.

If I'm not mistaken, Ed, the first time I saw that EA on the wrappings was for Madden NFL 2005.

Don't recall it on my copy of Madden 2005 (GC), but it was definitely there on my copy of Timesplitters: Future Perfect.

I think Ed's avatar is a zombie from System Shock 2 (http://images.google.com/images?q=%22System+Shock+2%22&svnum=50&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&safe=off&start=0&sa=N).

Let's not turn this thread into another anti-EA discussion, kthx.

Anyways, the only EA games I've bought brand new and sealed were Burnout 3 and Need For Speed Underground 2 (both for PS2), and each had that EA logo.
