PayPal charges for the use of PayPal. Even though it's against PayPal's rules some sellers just pass that expense on to the people who benefit the most from the service, the buyers.

I know that Paypal charges you if you recive money, but I still hate when sellers want the buyers to pay this fee hehe.

Its against Paypal and Ebay rules only because its against US law in most states for vendors to charge a surcharge for the use of a credit card.

I would like to print up a copy of this law and hand it out to all the stores I run into that do this. Or maybe if there was a 1-800 number you could call and have their credit card service removed.

... A clerk wanted to charge me 45 cents for using my debit card a few days ago. I paid with change.

STATE LAW not Federal. Some states don't have this law but I was led to believe most do.

I guess I am a dip 'coz I have seen two of them in Japan this year for under $300. I'm pretty lame, no?
...damn my reluctance to pull the trigger on sumthin'.

Link? Sure it was the same thing? And i guess it will cost around $150 - $200 to ship it with EMS. Still cheaper tho, if it was the same thing.

Yah, it was the same thing. Super Potato in Den Den Town had one actually plugged in at one time (along with 4 other Vectrexs, Vectrices?) but I was spending $$$$ on other stuff so I didn't get. And I saw another one in a smallish shop in Nara-ken. I was really surprised by that one, but you never know what you'll find in small towns sometimes.
