Well the complete PAL 7800 set I have is a big giveaway ;)

The Vectrex was not released in Europe until MB took over, so probably best to remove "GCE" from the name.

Missing C64GS (games system) console also. I think there could be other stuff like Acetronic and Radofin to include.

I thought the PC Engine was not officially released in Europe? There are PAL versions out there because I believe Hong Kong got them.

hydr0x
07-20-2005, 03:49 PM
yeah, i wasn't sure about including the PC-Engine, to my knowledge it WAS released in Europe in miniscule numbers and only one game was released, but hey ;)

Fairchild Channel F under various names (Luxor Video Entertainment for example)

For handhelds you also have the Vatara Supervision

AtariBuff
07-20-2005, 04:01 PM
also its the Videopac G7000

the coleco and the 7800 were released for sure.

also the Atari XE GS is missing (shipped with a light-gun) and don't forget the Atari 2600 JUNIOR and the CreatiVision and the Interton VC4000.

I believe the UK got a Grandstand Channel F.

There's legit PAL Turbo Grafx systems which were originally sold in Spain, but I think all PC Engines were grey imports.

If you're counting the CDI as a console, then the Commodore CDTV should also be in there.

Yeah, as AtariBuff said, there's definitely PAL 7800s (pretty common really) and we got the CBS version of the Colecovision.

The Pico was released in the UK, France & Germany.

Wasn't there a second Euro version of the 3DO too? Sanyo, maybe?

And there's all those horrible Hanimex/Radofin-type things too..

MattyXB

NEC PC-Engine O_O
I was sure, that there is no PAL version out there. But maybe I wrong. I have buy a Japanese version, because no PAL version exist at last in germany I think.

So I learn every day something new.

The MultiMega isn't a handheld, it's a combined Mega Drive/Mega CD (called the CDX in teh US).

And if you're adding variations, there's also the Lynx I & II, two Saturn models, also a version of TecToy's Master System III that was released in Portugal. Oh, and there's those Videopac variants like the Jopac aswell.

Try checking the database [Odyssey2 - Non-Cartridge Items] ;)
No US version of the G7200.

Oh, and the Portugese SMS III looks the same as TecToy's Brazilian units (basically an SMS II with Sonic stencilled on 'em), but I don't think it credits TecToy.

Don't forget Gameboy Pocket.

07-21-2005, 07:02 PM
No US version of the G7200.

Technically, it's just a G7000 with a built-in screen, so I'm not sure it should be counted separately.

Cybiko [...]

Cybiko takes cartridges?!? Man, I passed it by because as far as I knew it didn't... I'm bummed now!

So, the PC-ENgine was only released on Spain? Iīve always wondered why everyone said it wasnīt released on Europe when I saw it on stores here.

Btw, it was released with the same name as the American one (Turbografx-16) in 1992, and thereīs more than one game released. By 1994 it was already dead, because they released most of the games through 1992 and the first half of 1993. By the end of 1995, they had a special deal in some stores that included the system and you could choose 8 games.

This is the list (extracted from a magazine):
-Alien Crush
-Bloody Wolf
-Bomberman
-Bonkīs Adventure
-Bonkīs Revenge
-Boxy Boy
-Bravo Man
-Chew Man Fu
-China Warrior
-Cratermaze
-Cyber Core
-Davis Cup Tennis
-Deep Blue
-Devilīs Crush
-Double Dungeons
-Dragonīs Curse
-Dragon Spirit
-Drop Off
-Dungeon Explorer
-Fantasy Zone
-Final Lap Twin
-Final Match Tennis
-Final Soldier
-Galaga 90
-Gradius
-JJ and Jeff
-Impossamole
-King of Casino
-Legendary Axe 1 and 2
-Military Madness
-Moto Roader
-Neutopia
-New Zealand Story
-Ninja Spirit
-Operation Wolf
-Ordyne
-Pac Land
-Power Golf
-Psychosis
-R-Type
-Space Harrier
-Super Volleyball
-Tiger Road
-Time Ball
-Veigues Tactical Gladiator
-Victory Run
-Vigilante
-World Class Baseball
-World Court Tennis

So, thereīs about 50 games released for this system in Spain.

But are those just US copies that were imported & sold there? AFAIK, Blazing Lazers (the Spanish pack-in) exists with a 4-language manual, but I've not heard of any others. If that many games were released, then surely it would have been known about before now?

If you want, I can provide you with a scan from the magazine. I remember they were reviewing games for quite a long time, almost two years. I donīt think they were American copies, but Iīm not sure. Is there a way I can know it?

Iīve read something interesting in a special article on the magazine. It says that Compudid bought the rights to distribute the system on Europe, and that the Core Grafx model was released in France in 1991.

anagrama
07-22-2005, 12:24 PM
I'm not doubting that they were reviewed and probably sold there (after all, no-one would go to the effort of releasing a system and then only have one game available), it's just whether there's any actual difference between US copies and these ones - I'd guess that there isn't.

I've heard of a French Core Grafx before aswell, but haven't actually seen anything to confirm it. There was a really long & detailed thread about it somewhere...

If we are listing different iterations of the same console (i.e. Saturn, Saturn "2") then surely you should also have:

PSOne, PSTwo, Silver PS2, Silver PSTwo.

There is at least as much difference between all of those as there is between the Saturn and the Saturn "2" ...

But particularly the slimline models ... and the Silver model is significantly lighter and quieter, so it is fairly substantially different too.

lot of good games for the system .They even did sell japan import games 0_o;;.In normale stores like dixsons.I think this is very strange. You can buy games like cryzorg and snatchers and sd snatcher, king kong 2.Between the pal msx games

I think how do those japanese import games ended up in normale gameshops?.And because it was between the year 1983 - 1990 it wasnt very commen to get import from japan. They included a transulation of the manual

many games werent sell at the end.Maybe they are under the dust i a warehous.

You forgot the DigiBLAST (http://www.digiblast.nl/).

I get an odd felling this system become very rare in the future to find.It was released a half year ago.But everything went wrong. The main company that must developed most games for the system quit

so the system was released witch around 5 games and some cartoons. The stock was so less .You could only buy them in some stores .Not on internet only at the otto shop.

The director promise to released the system again. But i will get a odd feeling this will never happens

It's also ridiculous expansive.
I've seen them go for reasonable prices on eBay. Worth a check ;)
