Please eat live fish if you do not play current gen consoles and don't have a HDTV in your house (vote yes if you don't play current gen console, but DO have a HDTV for watching Tv/whatever)

Computer monitors count as nothing.

Vote no if you have a 99.9% chance or less of buying one soon.

If you have a HDTV but play your current gen consoles on a different TV in the same house, vote yes.

I'm trying to get this fairly accurate, so ask before you vote :P

Current TV is a Sony XBR that handles 480p, 720p, and 1080i with no problems.

Also hooked up to a 7.1 surround in case you want to add that into the mix.

Currently 40% yes 60% no.

I have a 47" widescreen HDTV 720p 1080i. It's RPTV and a panasonic, but it serves it's purpose well :)

I'm glad it's coming out like I had planned so far. I'm sick of hearing TONS of posts of people saying only 5% of gamers have HDTV hookups now, let alone 2 years from now.

I hit 'no'. Current gen gaming does not excite me. I have a PS2 and a GCN, but I don't play them very often. I have a TV with a really nice composite picture, and that's good enough for me.

Had mine for 3 years, although I don't even have a HD tuner yet. At the time, the only TVs that didn't have a shit picture all had HD capabilities.

Nope for me. I got a 36" Sony WEGA around 5 years ago (got it for the anamorphic mode for DVDs). And will probably stick with it a while longer...

Cheers,
Ben

hope it isnt, I just have a standard flatscreen, no widescreen or anything. I put out $500 for it back when they were at that price, its a 27 inch.

I will definitly save up for an HD tv for the next gen systems, once they start coming down into an affordable price.

I don't have one now, but I'll probably have one by Christmas of 2006.

I'm not making anymore big appliance/electronic/funiature purchases untill after I move.

I am not intrested at all in current systems and I only see a big disadvantage in HD-TV as it won't support my lightguns. So no and I don't need one as well, my 15 year old tv does the job good enough.

Neither of our tv's support HDTV.

Then again, it's not a common thing in Australia anyway.

no

and what is this poll for

What are any polls for? To satisfy curiosity. No, it has nothing to do with proving anyone right or wrong (other than myself in my own mind) and has NOTHING to do with the revolution/xbox 360/PS3, or current or future DVD Formats/cable broadcasts.

I'm happy to say yes, a Toshiba 42" 16:9 Rear Projection capable of displaying 480p, 720p and 1080i to be precise

Voted "no". Which is also the answer I currently get when I inquire as to whether there's money in the budget to get an HDTV.

Just curious--what's the date when our analog non-HDTVs stop receiving broadcast signal? That's probably right around the date that we'll pick up one of them high-density-tele-visoramas with digitalis deceivers.

I've got an Acer AL2671W which is an awesome 26" Widescreen HDTV monitor/tv. Really is the best TV i've ever had. Roll on HD content in England.

Some of you can really blow your money, I just use a 21 inch with mono sound most of the time.

Do HD tv to be found in my house, and I have 'many' tv sets for gaming. Couldn't really care less about the HD part of it, as I mostly play classic stuff. Kaboom would look just the same, for the most part...

Most people wouldn't consider buying something they enjoy "blowing their money"

Hell, we collect videogames on this website :P You think I enjoy playing Video Jogger more than I enjoy playing Combat?

I have 3 HDTV's in my house.

So you know where I stand on the issue.

But I think that old school gamers might want to reconsider the whole "HDTV isn't a factor for me, cause my systems are all older" take.

If you like anything from the Master System forward, then you might want to reconsider, because there is the possibility of turning any HDTV into a giant RGB monitor.

It requires a few things to actually make it happen, but it definitely is an interesting thought if you are really into any systems that also feature RGB, and you happen to have a large HDTV in your living room.

Nope. I'm very happy with my 27" Sony Wega. I don't plan on getting an HDTV for quite awhile.
