When asked about the unshaven man, Takeuchi said that the core developers for RE5 include staff members that worked on RE1, hinting that it might possibly be Chris Redfield from the original Resident Evil. Takeuchi also revealed that RE5 will be an authentic sequel to the series' main storyline rather than a side story. A conclusion to the main story line... maybe but there will pretty much always be a RE title in some stage of development. The day Capcom stops flogging a hit franchise is the day a flying pig drops a Phantom console down my chimney.

Quite right with the neverending series. Cash cows like the RE brand aren't likely to be killed off so easily, just look at Pokemon.

SERIOUSLY, MONEY TALKS!!!!! This series makes money... it will continue. Its that simple. It has a huge fan base that seems to increase with each release. I don't study sales figures but every gamer I talk to says how they love the series. Even gamers that just got into it.

You know, they can end the main storyline without ending Resident Evil. We've seen enough side stories to know that Chris Redfield doesn't make a game RE. Let him have a happy (or otherwise) ending and let some other schlep battle the listless dead next time.

They REALLY need to conclude the immedate storyline from 1,2,3 & Veronica. There's plenty of possibilities for more games but we need to know what the F is going on with Chris, Claire, Jill, Barry, Wesker, the little girl & Ada wong!!

Then the Zombie killing can resume for more Ca$h.

This has been my point the whole time thats why I luved CV so much because it had a great storyline that explained a LOT more about the whole RE saga the Ashford family and showed what was happening with my two favorite characters Chris and Claire.


I mean Leon is OK and all but Ive always thought that Chris,Claire,Jill and of course WESKER MADE the RE series.

Yeah Im sure it will be an end to the current storyline and not to the series as a whole.

I also read somewhere that RE5 will most likely have a now grown up Sherry .

there's at least going to be an Outbreak 3. you can unlock the costumes for it on file #2 using a gameshark. i like outbreak, i just hope they tweak the few flawed areas and keep the levels diverse (a mall would be nice. maybe an area with a bunch of gridlocked highway or something, and a false escape route leading to a giant quaratine wall like in the second RE movie. an airport would be nice as well, since it would be jammed packed with corpses of people looking for an easy way out, and probably a bunch of mercs)

I agree. Some of the places that you said would be great to go through, espeapily an airport.

Come on Capcom is the Japanese EA, they'd never let a series like this die. There's just to much marketing potential.
