In my house I have my PS2 and N64 hooked up in my living room with the bulk of my collection in my basement. Next to the upstairs TV is a DVD rack with my "current rotation" of anout 25 games. These are either the newest games or the ones I'm most likely to pop in.
Well, the other day, my wife and I were discussing the ESRB rating system and she asked about the games I play with my children.
I showed her the EC "edutainment" games and the "E" N64 games like Mario 64 and Yoshi's Story.
Then, she asked to see an "M" rated game because she wanted to see exactly what was on the label. So, I go over to my rack and try to find one.
And I'm looking, and looking.
Finally I find one, Metal Gear Solid 3.
That was the only one in the rack.
I understand that M games are supposed to be the best sellers, but who's buying them? How many do you have?

It's a M rated game and it begins with the letter M, so its a M game that way too (listens to crickets) sorry had to say it.
Anyway lately Raze's Hell has been the only M rated game I've been playing

The only ones I own are all the Cube Resident Evil games and I didn't even buy them, they've been left to me from my last roommate and my current roommate. Fun. I'm sure I've had others before and gotten rid of them I just can't remember any of them now.
Prince of Persia: Warrior eXtreme is rated M. I might get that when it hits $20.

most of my collection pre-dates the rating system, or is e-t. however, the majority of games i play are m.

I've got about 50 PS2 games, and probably 5-6 of them are M. 3 of them being the GTA... well... yeah, you know. I guess 4-5 M games then x_x.

I've been playing mainly sms, genesis and tg-16 so probably little to no M-rated games. Did turbo grafx games even have ratings? I know some of the genesis ones did. So maybe Splatterhouse 3.

Just took a look at my wall of current gen games.
E - 5
T - 12
M - 31
Although to be fair most of M rated games comprise series like RE, MGS, Splinter Cell, Devil May Cry, Dead Or Alive. in fact those steller series count for 15 of my m rated games. Also no manhunt or GTA Games on myself. My collection refeclts my stance on gaming. Quality is important. Story matters more the violence, however adult content is often needed to convey a truely interesting and mature story. At for the Teen games they're mostly Stuff like Contra: SS, Soul Cal 2 and the like. The E games are basically Zelda games and katamari.

Most of my games are rated M, only a couple are T... I never pick games based on their ratings, it's just the games I do just happen to be.

Three: Parasite Eve, Parasite Eve II, and Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.
I mostly play T games (Tales of Symphonia, the .hack series, Viewtiful Joe) and E games (Katamari Damacy, Zelda, Mario).
I am not a GTA fan, but I regularly pull a few M-rated gems from my brother's collection or my boyfriend's collection (the old Mortal Kombat games, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid).

I think the only M title that I own is Resident Evil (I & II). At least, I believe that's it. I mostly play puzzle games/platformers, anyway.

I know some of the genesis ones did. So maybe Splatterhouse 3.
Na, that was rated before the ESRB started. I believe it received the MA-13 rating which would basically be teen nowadays.
As for my M rated games.. Um, let me check.. I have the GTA boxset for Xbox, all the Metal Gears, RE Pure Evil Pack, Silent Hill 3, Eternal Darkness, Berserk: Gut's Rage, Record of Lodoss War, Castlevania LOI, RE 4, RE 2, Diablo, the Tenchu series, both Vandal Hearts, Gungrave, Mark of Kri, Primal, both the PS2 Shin Megami Tensei games, Zone of the Enders 2, Maximum Force, Deus Ex, DOA: XBV, Ninja Gaiden, Manhunt, and BloodRayne. I guess I have around 30.

The M games I have for the new consoles are Halo 2, Chaos Theory, God of War, Metal Gear Solids, Jade Empire, Fable (Crap...), and Ninja Gaiden. If you count San Andreas as M, or as AO, then I have that to. More of my M games are on PC, like Half Life and Half Life 2, but for the previous generations, I don't know how many I have. Mortal Kombat and Doom are Ms I guess, so I guess I have a few.

I have a fair amount of M rate games, mostly the commons like RE, GTA, DMC, DOOM, Brothers in Arms, Max Payne and a few others, maybe around 20, but when you figure that my next gen collection is around 80 games, 20 really isn't that many.

In my collection, I have most of the RE games, the GTA series (minus SA), the Devil May Cry games, Bloodrayne, Onimusha 2, Midway Arcade Treasures 2, Neo Contra, Wolfenstein 3D, and Shadow Hearts. Even discounting my large NES collection, which is 99.9% pre-ESRB, this isn't squat in my collection.

I'm not playing any Mature-rated games right now, and honestly, I rarely do. I pay no attention to ratings as I buy games, but I naturally gravitate towards Everyone and Teen-rated games. I remember when I got my first Mature-rated game. It was Parasite Eve, and I bought it at Toys R Us. The employee pointed out that it was Mature-rated and all that crap, and I was saying "Yeah, I know". I didn't have ID on me, but I was 17 or 18 at the time. I had my mom right next to me, though, so maybe that's why the employee didn't make much of a stink. Anyway, I've acquired numerous other M-rated games since then (just got another today), but they still are only a small portion of my collection (or even a small portion of my post-ESRB collection if you want to exclude all the older kid-friendly games).

I have 20 "M" rated games (I'm not playing any of them at the moment - though I'd like to get back to MGS2 and finish it), and 7 that would be "M" if the ratings were given at the time, or if they came to America (The one not shown is the Saturn Tenchi Muyo Red Label data disk. It has Ryoko naked in a video clip - hence the Red label.)
Here's a group picture of my "M" games (Yes I like State of Emergency (in 10 minute play sessions) and Revolution X. Bite me. LOL)

Edit: Add in the Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 for SNES/Genesis. I have those as well.

Well, just my easily accessible PS2 games yeilded the following:
Silent Hill 2
State Of Emergency
Twisted Metal Black
GTA 3
Mortal Kombat DA
Metal Gear Solid 2
Funny thing is that the last time I played any of them (well other than SOE for about 20 minutes a couple months ago, and MK DA when I bought it then realized it sucked) was months before GTA Vice City came out... I did look at what new generation games I usually play and unbelievably like 90% of them are rated Everyone and the other 10% rated teen or higher. Guess this whole drug/sex/violence thing is getting old for me (or maybe I'm just getting old :eek 2: )

I only have two "M" rated game in my possession at the moment, and it's the two Halo games. I still play Halo 2 from time to time.

Between Xbox, GC, and PS2 I have 10 out of 44 that are rated M.
Only 2 are from the same series (GTA).

I'm not playing ANY M Rated games.
But i do own some. But i'm selling them ASAP..
And BTW, There were some ratings that were used before the current ones came.
The previous ratings were:
K-A Kids To Adults (Everyone)
MA-13 (Teen)
MA-17 (Mature)
X (Adults only - This rating was used for Atari 2600 games)

NES: None, SNES: None, N64: Conker's Bad Fur Day, GC: Eternal Darkness, Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, Resident Evil Zero; GENESIS: Mortal Kombat 3, SATURN, None, DREAMCAST: Biohazard: Code Veronica technically is, cuz the American version is, but the Japanese version doesn't have a rating, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, South Park Rally, Typing of the Dead; PS: Evil Dead: Hail to the King, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Vampire Hunter D; PS2: Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, Devil May Cry, 2, 3, Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick, GTA Vice City, Mark of Kri, Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty, Onimusha, 2, 3, Primal, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, Savage Skies, Shinobi, Silent Hill 3; XB: BloodRayne, Fable, Halo, 2, Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer, Legacy of Kain Defiance, Metal Gear Solid: Substance, Midway Arcade Treasures 2, Ninja Gaiden, Sudeki, Tao Feng; GB/C/A: None, DS: None, GameGear: None, Lynx: None, NeoGeoPocketColor: None
Wow...I have a lot more M games than I thought. Well, when you have 344 games for 14 systems, you have a lot of every rating.
Like the majority of the people on this forum, I don't consider the rating when making a purchase. I buy the game because I like the franchise, I heard its a good title, I tried it and fell in love, it's an obscure and/or quirky game, or it's insanely cheap. A lot of games I like just happen to be M or T or E randomly.

I don't usually pay attention to the game rating when I choose them, since my games are for me only (it'd be a different story if I were a parent).
Anyway, here's the list of the M-rated games I have, and for which platform:
Aliens vs. Predator (Mac)
American McGee's Alice (Mac)
Diablo (Mac)
Diablo II (Mac)
Drakan Ancient's Gate (PS2)
Eternal Darkness (GCN)
Fallout (Mac)
Grand Theft Auto Vice City (PS2)
Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (PS2)
Mortal Kombat II (SNES)
Myth: The Fallen Lords (Mac)
Shadow Hearts (PS2)
That's it, that's all. 12 games, most of them computer games. To think of it, most of my games are T-rated.

I'm currently playing Project Snowblind and Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow on the Xbox, and I recently bought the GTA: Double Pack for PS2, Prince of Persia: WW for GC, and the original Rainbow Six 3 for XB at the Circuit City sale, but I haven't opened those yet.
I own a good number of M-rated games, but I don't buy them just because they're M-rated. Either they're (a) cheap or (b) I heard they were good games and just had to try them out.
Still, I might buy San Andreas PS2 just because I have an Action Replay Max collecting dust...

hmm, the only M rated games I even own are:
Quake III Arena
Halo
Halo 2
South park: chef's luv shack
Ghost Recon
MY StarCraft disc is one of the older ones which were rated M
Oh yeah, i got a command and conquer disc for mac which i've never played....
And that's it, not counting tons of PCGamer demo discs. out of those i only play StarCraft, Quake 3, and Halo 2 frequently. and since StarCraft was lowered to a T, it hardly counts...

None at the moment. Although I just did finish RE: Director's Cut a few days back.
Since people are listing them: (all PS2)
Legacy of Kain: Defiance (2 days in- very good so far)
Resident Evil: Dead Aim (playing)
Half Life (playing)
Siren (meh- too trial & error)
Extermination (still sealed)
Mark of Kri (still sealed)
Drakan: Ancients Gates (pleasant surprise)
Clock Tower 3
Dino Stalker
Primal
GTA 3/VC double pack
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 3 (recently unlocked the "alternate ending")
Shadow Man: 2econd Coming
Deus Ex
Mace Griffon (decent game if it were playable)
Soul Reaver 2
BloodRayne
Manhunt
Unreal Tournament
Rune: Viking Warlord
out of about 50 games, so just under half my collection, which is fine since I'm the only player in the house. The other near-half is split between "E" & "T" games.
