Favorite Game Series

I have found no topic about this, so I start one. When there is already something like this startet sorry.

So what is your favourite game series. So at last 2 games must exist from this serie. ;)
And when it has start, that you like this serie. Maybe when has it end.

I have no favourite serie alone. I like many series:

1. Castlevania - since the PSX I like this serie. PC-Engine and SNES was too great, but most I like these Action-Adventure games from these serie. So PSX, PS2 and GBA are the best for me.

2. Final Fantasy - since the SNES I like it. I have play the first time Final Fantasy II (SNES), but owned too Final Fantasy (NES) too. But the graphic was not so good, so I have not played it much. But SNES was so great. Then I get Final Fantasy III which was too great. Only problem, it was Import for me and with Adapter it has not work 100%. So I never saw the Item List outside from a Cave. This was the reason that I first have not play it much. But later I loved it. Then I have try to buy all Final Fantasy games which are avaible. All languages and variants. But then on PSX they get worst I think. VII was not bad, but the translation in german was very bad. VIII have I never played, because I have not like the graphic. Then IX was again great. But on PS2 I have only start X but never finish it. So later they were not so good anymore for me.
Other games which have something to do with this serie are too great. Like Secret of Mana series. And most other Square Soft Adventures are so great. But can't list all extra. Most there exist only 1 game, so no serie.

3. Zelda - all games are great. I have start with the first NES game and this was great, the second was not so good, because it was hard and more like a Jump & Run. I played near all Zelda games (only not CD-i). The worst game for me was Majora's Mask. I don't like the feeling, that I have no time and must always start new. So I have not like this one. But all other Zelda were good - great.

4. Mario Games - So many different games. But it has start for me with the first Jump & Run on the NES. Super Mario Bros. I have played it first on C64 (a different version). For this one I buy a NES, to play the real Nintendo game, which was so great. Later with the Mario Kart series it was much better. I like Mario Kart as only Fun-Racing Game. I play no other Racing games.

Thats all series which I remeber at the moment. Which are most important for me.

Baldur's Gate/Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance - I own them all, including variations for each console, and I have played them all.

Mario - All of them are on the list of my favorite games of all time. More so the adventure type, but even still; Dr. Mario, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart, etc.. are all great games.

Zelda - I never thought I'd get into these. As a kid, I always thought they were to complicated. Until about 6 months ago I forced myself to play Ocarina of Time. Now I love all the games in the series.

Mortal Kombat - I've always enjoyed their games. Mostly their Snes and Genesis era stuff, but its all good.

It's a close call between Mario, Castlevania, Metroid and Zelda but I'm gonna have to give the edge to Zelda.

Mega Man used to be up there but has fallen off for me in recent years.

But if I had to pick on I would say Mario had the best series.

Castlevania (surprise!), Half-Life, Fallout. Those really are my top four. Metroid and Zelda are pretty close, as are DOOM and Splatterhouse.

Probably Gradius too, once I get familiar with those...

Laugh if you want but ADK's WORLD HEROES has always had a special place in my gaming heart. Me and my best friend grew up LOVING that shit.. I have awesome memories of playing 1, 2 and Jet in the arcades... from Chuck E. Cheese's to Golfland to mom n pop video rental stores to Safeway. I never played Perfect in the arcade but am a proud owner of the Saturn import.

I have longed hoped for a WH 3 but that's very unlikely these days. Oh well, I'll always have Perfect and the memories. Captain Kidd, Dragon and Hanzou ruled 8-)

Well, Megaman is my all-time favorite series, but some runners-up for me would be Megaman X, Kirby, Sonic, Shadow Hearts, Breath of fire, and probably lots more that I'm forgetting. LOL

1. Sonic. I grew up playing Sonic, and I can't get tired playing the Mega Drive originals. Altough the new ones aren't as good as the old ones, I still love Sonic.

2. Ecco. Many of you hates Appaloosa, because of horrible Contras on PSX. I love Appaloosa because of two first Ecco games. Brilliant games, that never got attension they deserved. Still, I haven't played "The Defender of the Future" yet, for some reason.

3. Zelda. Definitely the best Nintendo games I have ever played.

4. Mario. Even if I hate the character, I can't deny, that the games are great.

5. Virtua Fighter. The beat 'em up series for me.
