Way of the Rodent recently had an "Image of the Month" compo where you had to 8-bitise a newer game.

Not at all. I think that companies should come out with 8 to 16 bit style mini versions of their most popular properties in nice $20 collections for PS2 Xbox and GameCube. That would be EXCELLENT!

Of course, since it is SUCH a good idea, it will never EVER happen.

I remember reading in The History of the Far Side book that Gary Larson had to censor one of his strips because one of the characters called the other a dork. Gary had no idea that dork was actually slang for penis (neither did I) and actually looked it up in a slang dictionary to confirm. Anyway, this is the first time I've actually seen the term dork used in that way.

Anyone else refer to their penis as a dork?

Reminds me of when I posted at pixel art forums (I havn't given up just need to put pixelling on hold for a little while - busy as!) there was once a challenge for members to make 2d mock-up's from current 2d games were some interesting entries but unfortunatly I have reformatted since then and only backed up my own work.

That ICO mock-up is very cool though, so old school and so much character would be so sweet if someone made a fan game out of it.

That would have to be 16 bit. The NES/SMS cannot display that many colors on screen (look at the sunset).

Naa looks 8-bit to me anyway its hypthetical man ;)

Im sure a game like this could have easily been done on the SMS if not the NES the segamaster system was much more powerful just look at double dragon on SMS compared to NES or especially VirtuaFighter animation on SMS.
