Was at Gamestop yesterday and saw this new pinball game from Capcom called "Flipnic" on the shelf. Never heard of it before but I guess it was just released last week and I'm a big pinball nut, so I had to pick this up. Was only $20 new too!

I haven't had a chance to play it yet but it looks pretty interesting. Doesn't look like a typical pinball sim with traditional tables like Pinball Hall Of Fame or Pure Pinball, but more like Mario GBA style pin with weird environments and mini-games.

The few online reviews I could find for it were kind of indifferent towards it. Sounds like the physics are spot-on though, which is all I really care about in a video pinball game. Anyone here play it? Just curious if it's worth bringing back or not.

I picked it up. It's strange and feels like you're on an acid trip, lots of blinking lights, boards that fold over on themselves, crappy video overlays (the content of the video is crappy not the technical aspect), lots of non-sensical stuff like "crab babies?" and UFOs. Generally a WTF kind of game.

That being said.... I LOVE IT.

I'm a huge video game pinball fan and think this one is great. It's fairly tough and very unique in its execution. It's hard to explain the gameplay fairly well so just buy it. :D It's only $20 and if you're a pinball fan it's worth every penny. Plus the graphics are pretty decent. The game has a '70s feel to it, which can be seen in the fonts and videos which is pretty cool. Besides, any game where the intro video is a close-up of a pixelated monkey playing with a fishing rod (at least I THINK that's what's happening) it has to be good.

I've heard of it, and I must say that it looks tempting for the price. There's a demo in the August OPM. I'll try it out a little later and post my thoughts.

I like it, it just came out of nowhere...it's Capcom branded...it's a nice twist on the pinball. I'd say it's worth the $20.

Came out in the UK about a year ago (strange us getting stuff first) from Ubisoft. It's a really really neat little game. Each level/table is very different and nicely designed. I thought it was a step in the right direction in terms of expanding an existing physical idea (pinball) into something that could only exist in a 'virtual' game (a multi leveled, changing game area which is graphically stylised).
Definitely worth adding to the collection as it's the sort of title which is unique and will be pulled off the shelf in the future for a quick bash.

Also nice to see Capcom put it out in the US, can they do no wrong?

Well, I gave the demo a try and I was pretty impressed, so I went ahead and bought the game at EB today. The physics are indeed spot-on. I'll be having some fun with this!
