Where is Burlingame on?
I'm new to this form and am thinking about checking out the expo but I have no idea where it is. How much it is to get in or anything else about it. Any info would be great!

All you need is to visit the CGE website:
http://www.cgexpo.com

Info on the hotel, the dates, the events, the exhibitors, the speakers, and everything else including a local area map are right at your fingertips.

Hope to see ya in August!

I do have a question: I guess that most of the sightseeing suggestions are from last year's, which would explain the San Jose-centric list. Is it possible to get to San Jose via BART or any other public transportation? I want to go to that tech museum in San Jose...

Not being local to the area I can't say for sure, but I know that BART is available from just outside the hotel and downtown San Francisco is a very short ride away. I'd highly recommend coming in a day or two early or staying a day or two late to check out the area. There's lots to see!

Any bay area locals who can comment on the San Jose-via-BART question?

Sorry Bart only goes as far as Fremont but I am sure
there is a bus that will get you within walking distance
that can be taken from the Fremont Bart station.

I have a small car (Chevy Metro) and have not been to
the tech museum myself so if anyone is interested I could
give them a ride from The Fremont Bart, I could take as many
as three passengers?

You can take Caltrain from Millbrae to San Jose. You can take the Hyatt shuttle to the SFO BART station and then take BART to Millbrae station. It's $1.50 each way. (You could try the Burlingame Trolley, but I don't think they stop at the Millbrae station. I think it serves other Caltrain stations that aren't served by all trains.)

Caltrain runs directly between SF and San Jose with stops along the way. It takes 1 hr 10 minutes from Millbrae to San Jose. On weekdays, if you time it right, you can take the Baby Bullet trains which will only take 40 minutes between Millbrae and San Jose. Once at the San Jose station, it's about a 20 minute walk to the Tech. The fare is $10 roundtrip. Check out www.caltrain.com for more info.

Also, if anyone needs transit, driving or bike information in the SF Bay Area, just go to www.511.org. Everything from driving conditions, driving times, transit info, road construction, etc. is all there. (in real-time too) Great for the road geek in me. :D

Thanks for the info!!!

I'll be in SF from Friday Aug. 19 till Wednesday Aug. 24. My only other plan, aside from going to CGE and (very shortly) meeting up with Steve's uncle and aunt, is to catch a Giants vs. Phillies game on Monday the 22 (I already bought my ticket).
