Storing loose Game Gear carts

Anyone have any ideas? I have a small tupperwear crate that I've filled and have nothing left. I found some great holders for game Boy games, but there doesn't seem to be anything out there for the GG.

They make these plastic three-ring binder pages for baseball cards. Buy a couple really thick three ring binders (these are much more expensive than they should be).

Thinking of going this way when I get enough handheld carts to bother with it...

That's how I've stored my loose Hu-Cards and GB games but GG carts are too wide to fit in the sports card sleeves I've found. Loose GG games make my head asplode.

Yeah, I thought of that. They're just too wide. They make 6-slot pages, but that's going to be way too thick. I'm talking about 70 or so games here.

What i have done is take the cardboard back of a notebook and some electrical tape and make a custom box. A paper cutter is your best friend here to create perfectly straight lines. Make it the width of the GG cart and about an inch high so you can set them in vertically for easy access. Length is up to your discretion/how many games you have. The electrical tape is good because it is strong enough, and you can easily cover the visible surfaces with an even black coating. Good way to store GB carts as well.

Are they totally loose, or do you have the plastic case?

I put a small sticker with a number on it on the fold of the plastic case. Then put all the games, fold side up in a shoe box or whatever. I have a sperate inventory list so when I want a specific game I can find it by the number on the case.

i just stack em up on a shelf. 2 rows back and about 12 games tall.

Completely loose. The cases take up more space and I can sell those and get money back from what I spent on the games.

Well, this is how I'm doing it, but I only have one loose cart right now.

You know the DS cases? The European ones are like, 1.5% the size, and the manual holders are BEASTS.

The only problem is, finding huge scale artwork for nintendo is easy, but for gamegear? It wasn't that popular. It could look really nice.

They are using these for the N64 box scan project, not sure if they would hols a GG game.

Unfortunately not. I used to have this going for my GBA games prior to doing the DS box thing, but actually haven't gotten around to doing it for my GG games. Need to though.

I got one of those soft carry cases that originally could hold a game gear. I took out the plastic insert (with the custom molding) and I just stack them in there. I'll get a pic sometime for you. Works great. You can put loose manuals in the side pockets. And it's an official Game Gear accessory! Cheap on ebay.

If you just want to store them, that's the answer. If you want to actually make them searchable...

Lets just say I've been watching this hoping for a better solution for the GOAT Store, because I have a bazillion of them in a box right now, and it takes about 15 minutes to find anything.

Here's what I use, they usually go for about $15:

You can fit 3 columns of Game Gear games across with about 30 loose games in each row for a total of about 90 per drawer. A complete collection will fit in one chest o' drawers with room for the Game Gear, an adapter, and several other accessories. You can cut up a small strip of cardboard or fold up a sheet of paper and put it between each column to keep them straight. The casters are removable.

As long as you don't jam too many carts into each column, flipping through them to find the game you want is a breeze.

PS - they're good for loose Gameboy games too. :)

I have about 120 or so myself, with about 10 of them being imports from Japan and a few Uk games in there. I have a bunch of loose ones as well. I've given up on a Super Gameboy-style plug-in cart. Man, that would rock.

I've been using the Iris drawer units for a few years now; one 6-drawer and one 4-drawer. They have little rods so they can be locked together...

I've got over 800 games stored in 7 drawers for Game Boy/Color/GBA, Game Gear, Virtual Boy, NGPC, game.com, Lynx, Wonderswan, and Game King plus the systems and accessories in the two larger drawers. i just put 2-2'x1' black shelves on top to support the Game Boy display. Total cost under $40. The units can also be stacked on top of each other to make a little tower (just put the heavy drawers at the bottom!)

Where did you get that at? I could definately use that for all my carts and games I have laying around!!
