What games do you like to play with the volume turned way up?

I have all my consoles and PC rigged up to my receiver, and love to play certain games with it cranked up to the max!

Certain games are so much more enjoyable when you play through a 5.1 / 6.1 / 7.1 decoder, or just with the volume up max.

FPS games for example, add a new depth to the gameplay when you hear bullets whizzing from behind and then from in front...

I personally like to play bemani games (Space Channel 5 / Vib Ribbon / Parappa / Gitaroo Man Etc) with the music turned up as far as it goes!

Other games which have huge explosions are also great to play (Command & Conquer Red Alert II), or those which just have great soundtracks (Castlevania Symphony Of The Night)

Castlevania SotN. I still love the soundtrack of this game. It also has quite a bit of bass!

Since I get headaches very easily, I usually keep my games at a very low volume. But once in rare awhile, I'll turn the volume up to 11 on the following games:

Gitaroo Man
IS: Internal Section (this sucker at full volume rules!)
Secret of Mana (When a boss "explodes"... amazing)
and any of the Castlevania games.

Anything with a good tune, but Symphony was the first thing I thought of, too. Love that bloody zombie scream.

SOCOM 2 online. It helps because you can hear people dropping down from higher levels, planting c4, mines, even throwing grenades.

Any racer or FPS, and of course Katamari Damacy :)

Also Streets of Rage (series) sounds great because I love the soundtracks, haven't tried them hooked into 7.1 though.

Replace All That Remains with Metallica's Master Of Puppets and you have my answer.

Also Pop'n, of course. Doom 3, JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, Tekken 5, Um Jammer Lammy, and Vib Ribbon are also great.

I love turning up the music to the outer world theme in Final Fantasy 7. Say what you will about the game but it definitely had an amazing soundtrack.

Castlevania SotN. I still love the soundtrack of this game. It also has quite a bit of bass!

Can't argue with that. That game had a killer score.

I've been playing Darius Gaiden on the Saturn a whole bunch lately, and I am realizing how much I enjoy the music. It is somewhat eerie, but it really sets (what I think is) an awesome mood for the game.

Definitely Metal Gear Solid (all of them), love that theme song.

ZOE2 also, best intro theme song ever, excellent sound, etc...

If you literary can play a game with the volume set to max you either have a weak soundsystem or have bad hearing. Its "impossible" to have max volume and play a game for a long time. Will damage your hearing hehe :P
I never play any games with "max" volume, but I do play some chiptunes loud sometimes ;)

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Nothing like skateboarding around while "Police Truck" blares from your speakers.

Love the overworld music. :D I'm surprised no one has mentioned a Chrono game! I recently played through Chrono Cross for the second time (although this time fully to completion) and I couldn't help but blast what I was hearing. I also love the soundtracks from Suikoden I and II and often blast those when I am playing them. An honorable mention would be F Zero GX. Had a few really good tracks, especially the main "F Zero" theme.

I always crank the volume up on Final Fantasy Tactics.

Some of the best video game music tracks to ever grace these ears.

I was going to mention Chrono Trigger but I couldn't remember the name to any of the game's best tracks. That being said, I remember just standing still in the Guardia Castle forest listening to the music because it was so good when it built up.

I personally play DDR full volume. This is a great game to play full volume (in my opinion), plus you get into the actual game even more!

BMX AIRMASTER for the 2600!!!!! has the best opening track in the history of ATARI!!!!!!(pre 1992) I have played games on my computer with the volume off and had BMX cranked to max on my T.V. funny thing was that that was at 1:00 AM and my nextdoor neighber started banging on the walls.

You Stay Classy,

Ron

Well on any decent reciever full volume = protect mode. At least for me. Loud or what I would consider loud would be like 65-80% of volume.

Anyway I've said it once and I'll say it again the Monsturo Town theme from Super Mario RPG has the most INSANE low bass notes that I've heard. It rattles my ceiling with my cheap ass 100 watt Kenwood sub at half volume.

Also Tony Hawk Underground 2 has one of the best soundtrack selections I've ever heard... period.

The Wipeout series and Frequency are also great if you enjoy electronic music.

Jet Grind Radio(DC), Pretty much the kind of music I like, plus the sound effects sound pretty cool when turned up loud(like the sound the Helicopters make).

Final Fantasy VII(PS1), Love the music in this game. :)

Final Fantasy VIII(PS1), See above

THPS1,2,3(any of the systems they are on)

GTA3(PS2), I love the radio stations, and the sounds of the weapons.

GTA:VC(PS2), Best game soundtrack ever(IMO)

GTA:SA(PS2), Nice selection of music, plus awesome vehicle effects and improved weapons.

Worms: Armageddon(DC), Don't ask me why, I have no idea but... I love the "almost haunting" background music the game has.

PSO(DC), I always have loved the music in this game.

Crazy Taxi(DC), Great music to fit the hyper feel of the game.

There is more, I just can't think of them at the moment. LOL
