I'm trying to convince Joe to offer some X68000 (a very powerful gaming computer) emulators on the web site, but he hasn't been able to make any of them work on his computer.
Joe, could you set aside some web space for the emulators so everyone on the forum can test them out? And everyone else, could you give these emulators a test run and do what you can to help Joe make them run on his PC? I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Not a problem from my side. Ya might have to remind me.

All right, the necessary files have been sent. Did you ever receive them?
Also, is there anyone else out there interested in giving the X68000 emulators a spin?

I really dig Keropi, although it runs a tad too slow on my PC. That was a damn nice machine, wasn't it? There are some great games on there, including a port of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari (River City Ransom) that's about 5x bigger than the original NES version.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I want more people to experience the games and become X68000 fans. There aren't nearly enough people out there who appreciate the system or even realize it exists.
So, who else is interested in giving the emulators a spin?

Jess,
everything should be online now, as you sent them to me, in the following folder:
http://64.127.131.126/emu/x68000/

I could use some help explaining how to set this up, though. As you can see there is no page like the other emulation we've got simply because I haven't had any success in opening these.

What, the ZIP files won't open at all? Or are there files that won't work properly?
There may be some LZH files included... is your compression software compatible with them? The LZH format is really popular in Japan, but completely aggravating to Americans who are more comfortable using ZIP files.

Try using this compression tool if you're not having any success opening the LZH files. And please, describe to me in detail what you're doing and why you can't get the emulators to work.
Finally, if anyone out there is listening, please download this software and let me know if you're having the same problems as Joe.

Now I'm REALLY confused.

You sent me ZIP files. I copied the ZIP files to the folder (link) above.

Then I stated that I didn't know what to do with them. I can't tell from the ZIP files which ones are supposed to STAY ZIP, and if they're supposed to be extracted there are no clearly identifiable names within them to allow me to determine what's a ROM, what's part of the emulator... that kind of thing.

So again, instruct me and I shall comply. :)

OK, try this:
Make a new folder called X68000. Put all the ZIP files into that folder and unzip every one of them, making sure the files are dropped into the X68000 folder. There should be a couple of emulators in the folder... one has a black logo with a red stenciled X inside, and the other should look like a picture of a computer. Click on either one of those to begin.
I think I have more detailed instructions in one of the ZIP files... read the file called "English" if you continue to have difficulties. You'll also need games, but I've supplied a link to them on the Video Game section of the forum. They'll need to be unzipped as well, because the emulators won't recognize them otherwise.

I used a X68000 emulator a long while back and since deleted the romfiles and emulator from the HD (or lost them due to a crash awhile back I think). Joe, I'll check some of my archived cd-rs and see if I still have the goods on one of the CD's if you are still having problems getting this system emulated. From as far as I remember it rocked. Let me check...

On a side note, Winx68K v0.75 has been released. The page is in Japanese, but I have dowloaded the emulator and will give it at ry tomorrow. Here is the link in case you guys want to test it:

By the way, Zek... I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you about those games. I've been broke, as usual. :-( I'll put in an order if/when I can afford them, though.

Joe, any luck with the emulators?

Yeesh...this is a pretty old topic, however...
I finally got the Win68000 emulator running on my PC. Pretty nice system, really. It has one of the nicest versions of Castlevania that I've seen. Most of the games that I picked up for it work pretty well with only a few exceptions.

Yeah, I desperately wish Joe would support this system, but I've had no luck convincing him to do it. It's like he was traumatized by an X68000 as a child or something.

JR LOL
Well, I'll admit that it is a bit difficult to get some of the games running. Of course, what we really need is an english version of these emulators. That would probably simplify matters a bit.

I got this thing working on my comp after hours doing who knows what. I wish I could say I remember how I did it, but I have the working emu currently on my comp with the config files all ready to play. If anyone is interested, I can send them the emu, all ready to play.
