How much should one expect to pay for this game?

About $10-15, depending on varying degrees of completeness and whatnot. I've rarely seen it go over $20.

I can't remember exactly what I paid for my copy... about the $15-$20 range, I think... I THINK. Can't be sure about it. But yes, Gapporin has the right idea, it's not worth going higher than $20. It is an extremely unique game, but every title has their price limit. ;)
I do highly recommend grabbing this one for the SCD. It's one of the most batshit wackadoo games I've... wait, can it even be called a game? More like an interactive acid trip! :eek 2:

So...is it good? Or just an 'interesting experience'?

It's not even really a game.
You navigate through various rooms by pushing buttons located on nearly anything you can think of. Some buttons will move you to another room, others will end your adventure, but most of them do... strange things.
So, yeah, it's good... great even. But go in with no expectations because it's sure to shatter them.

So true. I wasted many hours with this one, just trying to see what kind of weird shit was going to happen next.

It's like Wario Ware. They made a remake of this game in Japan for PS2 called Switch.

There's a level where the kid will grow tits. And then, more than just the two. Very odd.

Great game... if I had a Sega CD I'd definitely snag a copy.

It was my main reason for getting a Sega CD...and I still don't have it. :(

I never saw this game around here, but i saw some screens and i know it´s a bizarre game; i just can´t forget the scene with the man dancing hula hula near the WC...
And as another member had said: "it´s not really a game"...

I had this game with my first SCD system back in the day. It's one of the first games my wife (then girlfriend) got into.
She would play it for a couple of hours at a time. I'd sit there and watch and just think "When is it going to be my turn". LOL

Actually, Switch was also the name for Panic when it was released in Japan for the Sega CD.

If emulation doesn't bother you, it's available at Home of the Underdogs.

WAS a great game? Still is, last time I checked. Ten bucks seems like a real bargain for such a funny, surreal game like this. It's one of those things you have to see at least once.

Tell me, how can anyone not like a game like Panic? (http://www.danielthomas.org/pop/classics/panic.htm)

I did pick up a copy of this on Saturday. It's complete but one of the case hinges is broken. Price was only $6.95, but after some store credit I had the price was only $3.
Played it and it's just as fun as I remember. Plus this time I've got a Sega mouse I can use with it instead of the control pad.

The only difference I've seen between the two (I have them both) is that the Japanese version contains brief nudity.
