Sellers who don't leave feedback

How do you typically handle sellers who don't leave feedback even after you have received the item and left them favorable feedback? Let it go?

I think this have been discussed before. I send a mail to the seller after I have recived and tested the game, telling that I have recived the game and that feedback is given.
They usualy leave feedback to me then. Otherwise I dont care that much now. In the begining I had to send an extra mail to some sellers reminding to give me feedback.

There's about six or seven people that I sold items to and they just won't reply so I can know if the item arrived, was satisfactory, or if there was a problem.

It really irks me off. I want my missing eight feedback points, goddamnit!

As a buyer and seller I rarely leave immediate feedback, it's such a waste of my time. Instead, I wait until I have 30 or more auctions and leave feedback all on the same day for all of them. This may take anywhere from 10 days to 5 weeks, but I am pretty good about leaving it. If someone pesters me about it, I usually go out and leave one if they have left for me, otherwise I wait until my bulk feedback leaving event.

Agree. It doesnt take long to leave feedback. But as long as its given, thats the most important thing.

I also hate when the seller must recive feedback from the buyer before leaving feedback him/herself.
I mean, the buyer have payed quick and everything, so there shouldnt be any reason for the seller to leave anything other than positive feedback.

Someone give revenge negative which really sux. One time some seller overcharged abit more than I think its acceptable. I sent the seller a mail and asked why I had been charged so much more in shipping. Dont remember the reply, but I didnt want to waste any energy on it so I just left a positive feedback and add a comment that the shipping was a bit high, but the shipping was fast.
Then I also recived a positive from the seller with the comment "A bit of a moaner, but fast payment" or something like that lol.

Some people just have to revenge, they shouldnt be selling at all.

The feedback system was specifically designed to get people obsessed with getting a higher rating so they will keep using the site and lose track of what they should care about, which is getting the items or money. Do not fall for it!

I don't buy stuff on ebay, I do sell though and in selling a lot of items, I can tell you feedback isn't as important as people would like to believe. Heck most people don't even bother to read the auction before they bid, do you think they look at feedback?

Well.. some ppl might not care about it, but alot do.
I care about it. If I see a guy who have recived alot of negative lately I dont place a bid. Feedback shows if your a good or bad seller/buyer. So yes, its important with feedback.

Remember that I still leave feedback (I'm just slow at doing it), but anyhow, here is my rant.

It is a waste of "my time" because of the following:

- I already have enough feedback to be seen as trustworthy, so getting or giving an immediate positive is not vital.
- I feel the feedback system is flawed .. if everyone put exactly what they truly believed was warranted (that is, not worried about retaliation) then ebay's overall feedback rating would drop from the publicized 99% to something more like 95%.

Case in point, I bought a $610 auction that had 15 of the last 25 NES games I needed in it. I was on vacation when I won it but still paid just 4 days after the auction ended. The seller refunded my money and said he had sold to someone else. Is that fair, hell no, did I neg him, hell no. Did I report him as a non-selling seller, again no. Why not, nothing would come of it. He would have negged me back and if I report him, he gets his first of three strikes.

I'm not saying it is a waste of everyone's time, its just a waste of my time and I am very happy that I have found a more efficient way to do it by doing multiple feedbacks at once.

I check four things in no particular order, the feedback rating, the S&H, the picture, and whether paypal is accepted. If it is something big bucks, then I may read the description.

You say you don't buy on eBay, and that prevents you from understanding my reasons. Would you buy something from a guy with 0 feedback?

I pretty much do the same thing. It has nothing to do with the other person or anything, its just that I usually don't think about it right away.

As far as people leaving feedback for me, I really don't care anymore. I have over 900 positives now and think that what I already have for feedback speaks for itself.

I also believe that feedback in general is over rated. Especially now that you can simply pay to have your negatives removed if you want.

Suppose the buyer said "it's such a waste of my time to pay for your auction. I'll wait until I have 30 or so, then Paypal them all at once. Just wait 5 weeks, Mmmkay?"

Trust me you will like the ones who don't leave feedback a lot better than the ones who would be inclined to leave an unfavorable opinion. Would you rather a buyer neg you or leave nothing at all?

As a seller, I leave feedback as soon as I can when the payment is received, As a buyer, I leave it after the seller leaves it for me. I always e-mail the seller and let them know that the item has arrived, and that everything is OK or if there is a problem. If the seller still doesn't leave feedback for me, then they get none from me. The way that I look at the seller holding my feedback until I leave it for them, is that they don't trust their own opinion on what they had listed in the auction. As a result, my feedback left/recevied is off by about 100.

Why do sellers do this? As I mentioned earlier, if the buyer pays quick the seller have nothing bad to say about the buyer. So why not just leave positive feedback at once?

Have also recived some "automatic" e-mail from sellers saying something like "Please give feedback and we will do the same to you". I dont leave feedback just because of this :P
I always pay quick so why cant they give me feedback first? Never understood that.

Well this has turned out to be pretty interesting. I asked because I always leave feedback to the seller as soon as I open and try out my item. I have two right now that have sat for over a week without the courtesy of a feedback. I tend to be picky about it becuase I still have a low feedback due to not really being a seller, just a buyer. It's nice to build a positive rating for the day I do begin selling more often. In reply to people saying that feedback doesn't matter or no one looks at it, I always feel suspicious about buying from someone who does not have at LEAST a 90% positive.

I just email them to remind them that I have left feedback for them and it would be nice to leave me feedback too.
Like them I too am trying to make it on ebay and its all about the feedback. After that they usually do.
