Weekend Finds 1/17-1/19

Always like reading about other people's finds, so I figured I'd post mine this week - us New Englanders gotta start cleaning out the stores cuz those guys coming up for NECG are going to in a couple weeks I'm sure =).

As an aside, if anyone coming to NECG wants to unload a lot of the cheaper (DP Guide 5 and under) Dreamcast games, I'm looking to buy a good lot of them. I'd be willing to pay DP list in cash, and have about 150 to spend. I'm up to 62 in my collection; I have most of the expensive ones (MvC2, SnoCross, Worms WP, Sonic Le, Shenmue LE, Cannon Spike, Mars Matrix, BangaiO, Giga Wing 2, Gundam, among others), I still haven't picked up most of the "bad" but cheap games. I'll throw up a list tomorrow of what I have/need and give you a link if you're interested.

After chatting the guy up for about a hour, got a new japanese ps2 for $250, he threw in ddr best hits, and a doublel disc kingdom hearts soundtrack, both imports.

Got Virtua Racing for the genesis today! (the cart with the SVP chip)

From a hardware POV it's very cool. Quite impressive for a 16 bit cart actually.

AND I saw a complete Philips CDI, with movies, and remote and controllers at a Goodwill Thrift today. Great news right....?? Um No.

Omnedon - I've seen (and heard) that kind of thing at Flea Markets, but at a Goodwill? It sounds like they are trying a wee bit too hard to sell it. Plus even at $300, it seems like they are pulling numbers out of their... posterior.

On my finds, I picked up 65 issues of Nintendo Power for 35.00 CDN ;)

A boxed supercharger with phaser patrol all boxed for $30 and i got it at Mike Elter's Store.

A resquest of sorts: Anybody want to make a copy of a Supercharger game onto a cassete for me because i'm cheap. :P

When all is said and done, those 65+ Nintendo Power mags got me 50 issues I didn't have. ;) I'm only missing about 40 issues between 1 and 160 now.

Also, didn't mention it before, because I didn't know it was a find, but I happened to pick up a bunch of comics at the dollar store right beside the Salvation Army. Looking at them today, I realized a have a Signed copy of Superman in Action Comics #0 (signed by Denis Rodier, one of the inkers I believe) Pretty cool for a buck ;)

I don't usually post here, but I finally found some I think is worth sharing. I found a Toys R Us that is liquidating its merchandice and was selling off the "FEQ" or "Fixtures and Equipment." I imagine that all the employees got most of the cool stuff first, but I did find this Gameboy Pocket demo unit for $60. It has Donkey Kong Land 2 in it...pretty fun game. No key for it yet, so I haven't tested anything else. Does anybody else have one?
