To be perfectly honest, I'm not a fan of CT in the first place. So a 3D version (which I find unsuitable for RPGs anyway) doesn't interest me at all.

At first I thought it would be cool to see this game but after reading the main page of that petition I started siding with Square. Phrases like " hungry powertrip" and not undestanding why Square would shut this down ("Square Enix Co decided to stop them for *absolutely no reason*.)proves the person who created this petition is ignorant.

Tying to villify the company you are petioning probably won't help your case.

Damn, I would have paid good money for that remake. If Square was smart, they would have let the guys finish their project, and then make a deal with them to sell it officially. Square would have gotten cheap labor and the guys would have gotten to make something they loved.

But now, nobody wins. WTF?

Videogames are quickly becoming the new Hollywood.

What they really should have done was make the game in secrecy, and then simply suddenly release it. Nobody could stop it then.

Many people have tried to remake Chrono Trigger at this point. Most such projects simply lose momentum before they get much beyond the planning phase.

It might be more likely to see a total conversion of the SNES ROM some day. Extensive editing tools are available.

It's true though. about square stopping them. I belive square had every right to. It's just unfortunate they didn't get to complete it.

If you ever have the chance listen to the sound track that was made up for this project. It's awsome.

Heres the main site

http://www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/

I'll Edit in the link for the music when I RE-Find it.

Found the link to my fav song that had been redone

Corridors of Time (http://www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/media/music/Chrono%20Trigger%20Resurrection%20-%20Corridors%20of%20Time.mp3)

I'm still trying to locate the website of the guy who redid the songs.

Here it is

Not only is this old news, they were never making a complete game out of the project. It was always intended to be a demo. Nothing to get worked up about.

I don't want to villify Square, the only reason I'm interested in this petition is I hope Square sees that people would like a remake of Chrono Trigger or even a part 3, I don't care who makes it and Square had every right to put a stop to those programers from using copyrighted charactors and a copyrighted name, I love Final Fantasy, but at number 12 now (or soon) I'm just no longer interested in that series and would just like to see this one go further...

Yeah, this is pretty old news...when I first heard about it, I was pretty excited. I really enjoy the CT/CC series. However, I was unfortunate to play Chrono Cross before Chrono Trigger. I mean, I beat a game with a great storyline, yet some references to the old game didn't mean a thing to me. So after I beat Chrono Trigger, I beat Chrono Cross again. It was cool to see some stuff similar to the game before, but I wish I had beaten Chrono Trigger first.

It's a shame Square won't make this game.
