Congratulations, that's a great collection of systems(including a few that i'd like to get). I currently only have 23 but i'll get there eventually. I wonder sometimes if I should ditch the ones I don't like or just keep them so I can say I have at least one of everything.
BTW which one did you just get to make it 30?

Thanks for the kind words. Well, I just won four a few days ago on eBay from a member on here (it's in the eBay forum). I won the RCA Studio II, Microvision, Astrocade, and 3DO. Now, I already had a 3DO, but that was loose, and this is complete. Also, last night I ordered a brand new Jaguar for $75, bringing the total to 31. I am also currently bidding on a boxed Super Grafx, but I don't know if I can keep up much longer. :)
BTW, which ones don't you have that I do? Also, don't ditch anything! I haven't played my Fairchild or Odyssey in YEARS, but I wouldn't dream of getting rid of them. Keep on collecting. Trust me, I made a lot of mistakes in the 90's that I regret.

My condolences to your wallet. Multiple systems = multiple outburts of cash spontaneously disappearing when placed near video games.
All kidding aside nice collection.

Sweet! :rocker:
I rememeber when I first started collecting, I wanted to get as many consoles as I possibly could. I eventually stepped back and realized "what do I need a 3D0 for?"
Thats a nice collection of consoles you got there though @_@

Hehehe, actually, a lot of those systems I got as a kid and teen, so I didn't have to pay for ALL of them. :P

what do people count as different consoles? like, one example, is i have a 2600, and a 2600jr.. do they count as different consoles or not? also, i have a pal snes, a us snes, and a super famicom.. does that count as one, or three?
in total i have 42 consoles i think.. but counting duplicates (different regions of the same console counted as one also) i have more like 25.
i have a boxed final fantasy wonderswan color! so there:P
was that pack meant to come with a wrist strap or not? i think it was, but i dont have it.
where is the C64?? 8-)
That's not a system, it's a computer, silly! :P

I hope to reach 40 by years end too. Think we can do it? :)

I guess you can count them any way you prefer, but as you can see with my systems list, they are completely different systems, not variations in any way.
I just won a boxed Super Grafx and boxed Playstation 1 on Ebay, so that will put the total to 33 by next week.
So what should I shoot for next? I'm really looking for an Arcadia 2001, but have had little luck since I started.

Lets see, when I count only different systems and no variations. Near all PAL.
Atari =3 : 2600, 7800, Lynx
Nintendo =9 : NES, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, Virtual Boy
Sega =6 : Master System, Mega Drive, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, GameGear
Sony =2 :PlayStation, PlayStation 2
Others =3 : G7000, PC-Engine, WonderSwan Color
So maybe I have 23 differents console systems. But I own some variations from the Atari 2600 VCS, by Super Nintendo PAL & NTSC, a Nomad (which is a transportable Mega Drive), some Adapters, which play Imports or differents systems too and some modded consols which play Imports too.

i got an arcadia at a garage sale a few years back, so im set there. i may break down and buy either a vectrex, studio 2 or channel f.
i dont count the different game boy systems, as the advance is all encompassing, and i dont count anything intended as a computer...
my 39 are
3DO
Action max
arcadia 2001
atari 2600
atari 5200
atari 7800
atari jaguar
atari lynx
bally astrocade
colecovision
famicom
game boy systems
gamecube
intellivision
microvision
n64
neogeo pocket
ngage
nes
snes
odyssey 2
Phillips CDi
PSP
PS2
Ps1
rzone
32x
sega cd
sega dreamcast
sega game gear
sega genesis
sega master system
sega pico
sega saturn
super famicom
turbo grafx 16
turbo grafx cd
virtual boy
and xbox (which i wont play)
ive got some pongs too, and several variants of many systems, as well as a supergun, but i dont count that stuff.
so i have a significantly shorter distance to go this year than you do, but youre making much better progress than am i :)
i ran a count of my games last week also(everythings on excel, so a full game count takes about 20 minutes), and i have 3760. with the rate im buying, i may realistically reach 4000 by the end of the year. thatd be a banner year i think, getting to 40 systems and 4000 games!
maybe i should just buy a complete set of game.com and get my 40...

I have over 40 different systems.
Just added the Super Grafx to that list. I finally got mine in the the mail yesterday, after drooling about it since reading about it in EGM about 15 years ago. I did a "Buy It Now" on eBay for $199. It's complete, mint in box with instructions. I have no games for it, but I'm bidding on Ghouls & Ghosts right now. Hopefully, I can find 1941 as well. :)

I've only got around 25 "different" consoles, but I'm in the 30+ consoles club for a single kind. I've got 31 or 32 ColecoVisions right now.

Wow, can I ask why (not that you need a reason)?

Atrai joysticks, but most importently it's in the DP Collector's Guide

Because I mod and re-sell them.

I buy "non-working" consoles, refurbish and mod them for people that can't do that kind of work themselves. They do sell very well. Whenever I see lots with multiple consoles for sale I pick them up fairly inexpensively. I've been out of town working quite a bit recently and haven't had a lot of time to sell them, so they add up. :D

Wow, some of you have an insane number of consoles. I only have:
Atari 2600
NES
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Gameboy
Gameboy Advance SP (x2)
Sony Playstation
Neo Geo Pocket Color
Sega Genesis
Sega Dreamcast
I guess that makes 11. I do have about 400 games to go with the systems, though (120 for my NES, alone).

I guess it depends. I personally don't view the Sega CD or 32x as systems, but I'm old fashened like that. In fact, I just started considering handhelds like the Game Boy systems. :)

You do an awesome job (although I personally wouldn't pay $299 for a modded ColecoVision). I really should send you some of my systems to be modded, like my Super Grafx.

Atari:
2600
Nintendo:
NES, SNES, GB, GBpocket, N64, Gamecube
Sega:
MasterSystem, Genesis, 32X, GameGear, Saturn, Dreamcast (x3)
Sony:
PS1
14 systems in all with over 400 games (listed in my profile). It's cool to have so many systems and games, but I just kick it collecting as I go and playing the games 1 by 1 beating them. There's hundreds of games for each system, and I barely scratch 50 on some and less than 20 on others. Because of this, I've gone more into collecting the games for the systems than expanding my systems archive. Awesome collection though :).
