Not sure if this is the right forum for this.... but since Final Fantasy 7 has already been discontinued (for good this time) and the others are sure to follow... does anyone think the value will increase for them? Especially the non-GH versions of each.

I can't imagine that happening anytime soon, considerin the number of copies of each I run into in any PS1 bargain bin.

I doubt it will ever be very hard to find. The non GH versions are slightly uncommon in my area(but you still see them all from time to time).
I just think the FF trilogy will always be fairly common on PS1 since it's Mega Popularity and all.

Hell, I still find new copies, branded with the new Square-Enix logo to boot.

Only sealed copies will go up in value in the near future, I think.

From what I've observed in NZ, here are the prices they fetch here, auction wise, in $NZ. Used versions, since new is very hard to find here.
FF7: $30-45
FF8: $10-20
FF9: $45-70

Just picked up the non-greatest hits version of FF9 for $12 bucks at a local video game store about a month ago. It was 100% complete and it was MINT. Not a single scratch on any of the discs that I could see.

Ditto, but for $15. I've seen about 8-10 non-GH IX's in the last couple of weeks.. plenty of VII and VIII too. The only non-GH I can't seem to find is Castlevania. Grr.

The ony place I could see the value going up is ebay. Maybe 5 years down the road the demand will be highrer since stores like gamestop will probably not be carrying PSX games anymore (just like they cleared out their stock in most stores of their N64 and DC games) then people will haveto resort to the internet and prices will most likely go up, but they will always be easily available.

Final Fantasy games usually hold their value pretty well. As with most RPG's. Although, I don't see them going up in value unless they're sealed, and that still won't be for a few more years.

I see them from time to time for $10-15 at local places... The only non-GH Castlevania I saw recently was a disc only copy for $3, which is in my collection. :-P
