i was shopping for crap shoes to wear when i'm waxing/stripping floors. after buy them, i stopped by the store's crappy little game section which specializes in selling SNES football carts for $5. after digging through a bunch of $15 Turoks, i spotted a game cover i didn't recognize. $15, probably has the manual. i've seen it once at EB (i don't go through the NGC section very much, as its rather small and expensive) and it was and is probably cheaper if i could locate it again. what would do you in my case?

Well, if you like shmups, that's what this is. The 3d perspective is kind of an illusion, it's pretty much a reworked Space Invaders. I thought it was pretty fun, but you have to be a fan of the genre, I think, to really enjoy it.

It reminded me of a late PSX era budget title... but somewhat better looking. I mean... if you've played Space Invaders, you've played this game. Only now you're in a city, with a 3D view, and you're shooting with guns. I'm glad I have it, because I only came across it once at Sam's Club... but it's far from the crown of my collection. Not a whole lot of diversity to it.

I paid $12.99 just because the cover caught my eye. It's interesting, but not worth it if you're seriously looking to play it.

i paid $19.99 for it a bit after i came out.its not bad,its cool for me as i am a big space invaders geek, and its pretty much a remake of space invaders except you control a person instead of a ship.its fun,but it isnt a game that you will be playing everyday.i say if you can get it for$9.99 or lower, snag it up.

I played through it with all the characters hoping to unlock something. No dice. Pretty bland overall and can be beaten in about an hour (not that thats a particularly bad thing). Very little excitement for a shooter. I prefer Space Invaders for the PS1.

I got it off eBay about a year ago for $15 shipped an I'm happy with it. to me it's a nice fun little game and kind of an interesting twist on the Space Invaders games.

I'd say it's very disappointing. The play mechanic really, really gets tiresome after a few minutes. If you're looking for a fast blast of arcade fun just go with the original or one of its remakes. This game is just too simplistic to work, and the different "characters" and endings aren't worth a minute of your time (if you want to see the ending, just put a piece of tape on the "fire" button, walk away and come back in an hour...literally, it can be done).

was it issued in limited release? someone on gamefaqs was saying it was as rare as the ngc resident evil ps1 ports.

It doesn't seem to be that rare. I picked up my copy at Sam's Club, of all places.

It's an all right game. It may just be me, but the problem I had is that you can't switch directions immediately. If you do, you slowly run for a couple seconds in the opposite direction before getting up to full speed again. This really kills a lot of the quick dodging opportunities that you could do.

It isn't bad. But it also isn't that great. Space Invaders '93 (or was it '91?) for the Genesis was a better remake, in my opinion.
