Something in my gameroom is beeping every day at 12:00PM (noon)
dingding...dingding
It's a soft, fairly quiet chime. I don't have anything TOO obscure in the area it's coming from. Sounds like maybe my handhelds section. Does anyone have ANY idea where it's coming from? Neogeo pockt? (has no batteries in it, but does have the watch battery still)
I'm never close enough to pinpoint it.

Don't Game & Watches have an alarm in them?
Do you have any of those?

How about one of those old Nintendo watches, got any of them?

It's probably carnies. Small hands, smell like cabbage.
Or maybe Meseta gnomes.
That or the above 2 suggestions. :)

Its most likely a watch or something. Try to take all the things that you think might make this sound and put them in a room of its own. Then wait until 12am and see.

Lets see... things that have alarms in a game room...
Like you thought, the NGPC does, but it doesn't work withouth the main batteries (just tried it)
Like people said before, the Game and Watches have them, or if you have a Sony PocketStation, that has one too. Dreamcast VMUs also have alarms. Other than that, unless you have some collectors watches, I can't think of anything else...

Little did Sylentwulf know, the new season of 24 was being filmed in his game room. But when Keifer Sutherland ran in, grabbled the Nelsonic Pac-Man watch, dashed outside and gave it to a bomb squad, the realization began to set in.

Well, we know it's not an iPod alarm, because it doesn't make a beep-beep sound -- more like a beep-boop, beep-boop sound. And it's not from a DS either, since the sound level increases again and again and again on the alarm...

LOL
This has happened to me before, but only with a small clock/calculator device. It bugged me for about 2 weeks until I found it lying in a basket in the kitchen.

Some of the table top arcades have a clock in them. i.e. Donkey Kong Junior.

Years ago I got a Donkey Kong watch as a cereal box promotion for the original Donkey Kong Country. The alarm went off at 5:00 am every day for two or three years! I didn't discover the source until I took it with me on vacation and my parents (sleeping in the same room) got annoyed and forced me to track it down.

This thread reminds me of the famous IRC quote:
<erno> hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is.
By getting really close to the sound, you should be able to locate it ... just be prepared at that time :)

Easier said than done considering the size of his collection X_x

Yeah you guys just named off about EVERYTHING I HAVE in that side of the room :) Weird game watches, game and watch systems, all my handhelds, all the little systems are over there.
Suppose I'll have to set ANOTHER timer to remind me to run downstairs at 11:59am.... I'll probly lose that timer in my couch, so on and so on until something in my house beeps every minute of the day.

If it's from your handhelds, then I have an idea of what it is...
You don't have the Robopon game for Game Boy Color, do you? I have it, and at the same time every day it dings, which is very annoying after a while. I'm just too lazy to stop it.

for the past oh...5 years everynight at 12:47 it goes off beeping. I have no clue what it is or exactly wherew it is coming from, but my best guess is an old watch or something.

That's what I was going to suggest, mine does that too, and I'm also too lazy to turn it off. It's been doing that since I bought it when it came out, I thought the battery would have died long ago.

NeoGeo Pockets have alarms. I've used it as an alarm clock a few times. I'd check your handhelds alarm settings.

I had a similar problem with my NGPC. It was beeping everyday at 2 am.

Ha ha....I have this happen sometimes..It's usually some new handheld game that I got/from the flea market that I popped batteries in to try.
I'll stick it on the shelf with the other handheld games and late at night I'll hear a beeping going off.
I just had this happen a Raceway Radio Shack handheld game.... :/
Take the batteris out of all your handheld games..
Once in awhile when the batteries get weak in my Game & Watch tabletops the alarm clock will go off..crazy

Ha! I bet that's what it is! I just brought all of my kids gameboy games into the room and I know that's one of them, and it's in that area.
Unfortunately I won't be home at noon until wednesday, I'll have to watch for it then ;)

Take Robopon with you in your pocket, and set your watch alarm to 11:56 :P

Years from now, still unable to find the source of the beeping, Sylentwulf, in an insane last-ditch remedy, burns his entire home to the ground.
He rolls on the ground, manically laughing as the remains smoulder.
Suddenly.....a sound........*beep* *beep*.
