I have a neighbor that has a Pacman game sitting on their carport(and has been there for about 2 years. It is sitting where the rain won't hit, but I wonder what the chances are that it still works? I may stop by and see what they want for it. What would be a good price for one of these? Ilooks like the paint/decals are age pretty good, and it is somewhat dirty.

Well... if it's been outside, I'd guess that it didn't work in the first place, so they put it out there... but even if it did, it'll probably need a good cleaning and reseating of the chips/connectors, and possibly replacing the sockets if the moisture corroded them. These games are pretty durable though, so it could still work.

I'll check on it, and it it doesn't work, I'll forget about it. I am the worlds worst fix-it person LOL .

If you really enjoy pac-man you shouldn't just give up on it! Even though it may not be in working condition you can get someone too fix it if you can't yourself!

Yea, I'll at least check it out. These people don't care about much. They have had a 54 Chevy car setting on the side of the road for sale for about 4 months and all the windows are down and the trunk opened. It has been real rainny here, and they just let it keep getting wet. This car is in fantastic condition, but I don't think it will be in a few more weeks @_@

Thats how i got my Mrs Pac Man machine actually. Someone left it underneath a deck during winter, and i managed it as a freebie. I'm in the process of repairing/restoring it now. (Although i'm kind of a newbie in this area myself)

From what i can tell though - After replacing the power supply(A new one is in the mail, the moisture from the snow pretty much rotted and rusted everything on the power supply board, and i wasn't about to plug it in) i think outside of cosmetic areas on the outside and maybe a Cap Kit on the monitor - It should work ok. The thing i noticed, is that for the Pac games, there are tons of documentation and help available in regards to repairs and restorations. The hardest part really is the old archaic non-switcher power supply.

One other good thing is that Mrs Pac-Man(and regular Pac) machines seem to be in pretty high demand. Which matters for people like me, who would much rather fix the machine and trade it away for a Mr. Do :)

Methinks that you should most certainly go for it. I mean, if you can get it for cheap (or better yet, free!) and then fix it up, it will still probably be a much better deal that buying a new one. And what gamer doesn't dream of having his own arcade cab?
