I'm just curious..I've seen several 32X threads lately, PLUS complete systems are selling for $50 or so now. What's the deal? Is there a 32X renaissance currently in progress?
I distinctly remember buying boxed (NEW) 32X units for $20 each, not too long ago. Of course, I remember being able to get new Jaguars from VGLQ for $15 each, as well.
Is everybody suddenly curious about this "much better than you've heard" system?

I just ordered one not ten minutes ago, out of sheer curiosity. What are some good games for it? (I also had to order the special cable to hook it up to my Genesis 1). Is there an official 32X thread on this forum?

Feh! I'm just bitter I passed on a MIB 32X locally for $15 a few months back. As much as I like the Genny, I know it is my destiny to own one of these someday...

I noticed the surge in popularity as well. It's odd given that emulators are just now able to properly run most of the 32X roms that would pique most player's interest (Chaotix, for one,).
I've always had my eye on acquiring one ever since it came out though, perhaps in the sense that at the time I could have never afforded one, so it always remained an object of allure despite falling flat on its face market wise. It could be that some individuals are finally satiating their curiousity- or that they observe how easy it is to come across complete games and how cheap they can be, even on ebay.
Got mine complete in box for 15 bucks and pretty much have everything I want cart wise.. save for Kolibri and Tempo. Soon.. soon..

Don't forget Space Harrier. It's probably as close to true arcade port as you're going to get without getting an actual arcade machine.
And #1 on the must have list for every 32X owners: a honking big bottle of asprins! LOL It's true, even a brand new 32X will show some sign of crankiness right out of the box. The first one I got sometimes the red signal goes dead, leaving me with green, cyan, blue and black picture. :P
Second one I got, the controller player 2 port never works when playing 16 bit games, only when playing 32X games. http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/hmm1.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/headscratch.gif It had since then died after making strange squealing noise when I tried to play a 32X CD. http://www.atariage.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif
It's time like this that makes me want to reach out and strangle the entire Sega QC team. http://personalpages.tds.net/~wilykat/tank.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/CUSSING.GIF http://personalpages.tds.net/~wilykat/eviltongue.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shoot9.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shoota.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shoot8.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shootc.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shoot6.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shoot5.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shoot4.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/shootingsoldier.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/flamethrower.gif
And when I'm done with them, I can tell them to http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/kissmyass.gif
I think the entire QC team were http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/smoking8.gif

im thinking about getting a 32x as well but it hardly has any shooters. just kolobri, shadow squadron, and some european game that costs a million dollars. theres a good website on the 32x at www.sega32x.com. its very interesting.

As a collector, with a bit of a bent for hardware, I find the orphans even more compelling than the popular ones.
*hugs my complete 32X and my 3DO*

I certainly don't hope so. I still need 3 games for it and it's hard enough finding them without other people looking for them too!

just picked up a mib 32x from ebay last week for $30 shipped. it was the last bit of sega hardware i needed and it turns my sega cd's into something resembling a transformer. I've been playing kuckles kaotix and find it difficult to control.

Virtua Fighter is surprisingly good. Star Wars Arcade is very cool but is impossible to finish. If you liked the recent Sega Star Wars arcade game you'll like this. Shadow Squadron is awesome. The 32X is one of those systems like the Jaguar that everyone ragged on, even though they had never played any game on either system for even 5 seconds, but because they read that Sushi X and the rest of the assholes at EGM etc. said it was crap. :Fade-color
