Hey,

This guy decived and ripped me off VIA Ebay. Read the auction descrition and then look at the actual cart scan I made. This guy is a loser. A game has to have a end label there to be in good condtion you prick. The label is ripped right off on the top portion of the cart and there is ink and chewing gum on the label. I ever emailed this guy before hand to confirm the contion of the cart and he screwed me.

Here's The Ebay Link & His Photo he claims shows acurate condtion (MY ASS IT DOES) And his decription full of lies:

HERE IS A SCAN OF THE CART I MADE WHEN IT ARRIVED:

So what do you have to say for yourself now that I went public with this Quarter?

First of all, have you tried contacting him?

In regards to the damage, everything except the missing end label is clearly visible in the picture. As for the end label, it looks as though he used a stock template for listing Atari 2600 games, and may not have realized that he needed to change the description/forgot to. He is a member here (Sylentwulf). Also, why didn't you post the email's you two exchanged?

Word to that.

I absoluetly HATE ebay stores. Bought some games that were in said condition and arrived just in tatters and all that shit. No more ebay stores for me :)

back on topic... that sucks man, but best you can do is suck it up and look for a better cart.

Most eBay stores sell too much stuff to possibly care about the buyer. This is a prime example. Says one thing and means another, gives the buyer a big F you and moves on.

I can understand what you mean,it always sucks to see a not so common game in a state like this.
Still when i look at auction pic you can clearly see that something is wrong with the Smurf label, assuming you know these carts you could have seen it in the pic.

Yeah, wasn't he asking people if he thought anything was wrong with the cart in the "Video Gaming" Forum.
I think I remember most peoples responses being "well... it looks alright... but I can't really see... it looks like theres some stuff on it, but its hard to tell"
Thing is, you definitely can't tell that there is no top-label on it.
I'm suprised, usually his stuff his great.

Well, Seeing as the User "ron_burgundy" is my good friend Josh that I see in person on a daily basis I can openly say I have read all the emails amd such back and forth between him and "The Quarter" as he puts it and I can tell you right up front that ol' ron got BURNED BAD, and I personally feel a bit guilty cause I recomended them to him cause my past dealings with Electric Quarter have always been picture perfect. So needless to say I'm embassased for giveing the Electric Quarter a good refence now and I don't see myself buying from them agian. Man do I feel like an idiot for giving them my recomendation :embarrassed: Sorry you got screwed Josh :embarrassed:

Lets be fair here. While I do think that your friend didn't get what he paid for I have to believe that EQ will eventually make things right. He's got too many postive transactions for me to believe otherwise. For some reason I have a feeling that there were words that caused hard feelings after the fact. Otherwise I don't think that EQ would have made his original post on the VG forum and to not want to deal with your friend.

Didn't see this post. I wish you had continued our e-mail conversation since you never sent me the pics you promised me you would. The cart had an end label when I put it in there. I know that sounds like one lameass excuse but it really did. In fact, if you look at the auction, you can clearly see the black outline above the white stripe on the top of the game. At any rate, I have no idea what happened between here and there, but if you had SENT ME THESE PICS, I would have taken a different action than what's probably going to happen now.

I asked for pics, you never sent me them. If you had sent me these pics that are in this thread, I would have done an exchange for you, or partial refund, or SOMETHING. I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the people who have dealt with me here and atariage can vouch for it. The only other problem I had was someone ELSE who posted a thread without continuing any type of e-mail communication whatsoever.

At any rate, I suppose I'm still willing to work SOMETHING out with you, so just post here, pm me, e-mail me.

Edit - Also, if you could go ahead and look at that thread I posted in the main forum, most people said the condition of the cart shown was a 3-6 judging by the picture. So IMO it was pretty obvious it wasn't exactly mint to begin with. But if you received no end label, that part is obviously my fault.

There are ppl on ebay who have huge feedback scores and are lousy on service. So even if they have big feedbacks it doesnt automaticly means that they are great sellers, customer and service vice. Unfortunatly :(

I bought something from electric quarter many months ago and it didnt work when I recived it, but I manage to fix it.
I e-mailed the seller about this and he was helpful. I dont know what happend in your case or how he replied, but personaly I got a good impression from the help I got.

Sounds like yourt gonna do the right thing. I was so confused cause the past dealings I had with your store where great and that was why I recomended you to ron. I bought some screwdrivers from you a while back and the deal was picture perfect so when ron told me what had gone down I had to take a step back in shock. Glad to hear it's all gonna get worked out.

Yeah, man. C'mon. I've met Sylentwulf a number of times, he's a decent guy, and runs a reputable business. It seems to me like there was just some lack of communication, and knowing the seller, he'd probably be glad to anything to make it work out if you contacted him with full info.

(And really, if getting "burned bad" and "totally screwed" means one cart in a 5 dollar lot of 6 mediocre-condition carts is missing an end label, you've got a pretty low tolerance for the world of commerce. This seems more like a "the quality wasn't what I thought it was, watch out" than angry tirade kind of problem, doesn't it?)

Actually the auction was for that one cart only, and not the full picture. Pretty much all of EQs auctions are run that way. Sylentwulf did make a mistake somewhere if the picture is not the same as the cart he shipped. but honestly I could only laugh at the thought of being ripped off over $5 LOL

Much like this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/SEGA-PS2-SNES-NES-Super-NINTENDO-X-BOX-GAMES-FREE-S-H_W0QQitemZ8209369851QQcategoryZ31583QQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem) Okay so you've recieved a broken item for $8 of your hard earned, and seller will only replace, or refund $1 of the $8 stating the rest was tied into S&H, so what do you do??? List an auction for $100 just to bad mouth the original seller that ripped you off. LOL

What I find funny about this auction is that he spent more than $8 on listing fees just putting this up, so now he's out twice what he was the day before,

Insertion fee:.....................$ 2.40
Subtitle:...............................0.50
Additional pictures:................0.30
Supersize pictures:................0.75
Gallery:.................................0.35
Bold:....................................1.00
Border:.................................3.00

Total added listing fees: $ 8.30

Price of getting back at your ebay enemies: Priceless

The auction that you linked to (http://cgi.ebay.com/SEGA-PS2-SNES-NES-Super-NINTENDO-X-BOX-GAMES-FREE-S-H_W0QQitemZ8209369851QQcategoryZ31583QQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem) doesn't have a border and the bold llettering can be done with simple HTML. I think you're mistaking it with the auction that The original seller (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8207136237&rd=1) had posted.

And to be honest, If someone screwed me and refusted to make good on it I wouldn't have a problem with spending a few bucks more to screw him back by making it publically known. Bad publicity is sometimes the only thing that gets a power seller's attention and even if it doesn't it'll at least allow the buyer to fell a little better about being screwed.

Actually it does. And you can't change the auction title with html. I'm not talking about any html techniques or tables setup in the description of the auction, only the title. Bold text on the auction title & the border show up in the search results. Makes it stand out against the other auctions while browsing...

Try doing a search for the auction like so (http://search.ebay.com/SEGA-PS2_Games_W0QQsofocusZbsQQsbrftogZ1QQcatrefZC3QQfr omZR10QQfclZ3QQsacatZ31583QQsargnZ-1QQsaslcZ2QQsadisZ200QQfposZ31206QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1Q QfsopZ2QQfsooZ2QQcoactionZcompareQQcopagenumZ1QQco entrypageZsearch) It's the only one of the 3 hits in that link there with the border & the bold text. Those are the options I mentioned.

I'm not faulting the seller for placing the auction, only I think it's a bit crazy he's going to the trouble, and spending even more money over this than what he spent on the item to begin with. And to think for $1.75 he could have received a replacement. It's just silly is all. Someone whining over a few bucks.

From time to time even good sellers goof up. I had a trade at one point w/ someone on these boards for a PSX trackball. I tested it out, it worked fine, and sent it off. Well, he got it and tried it and it didn't work. I offered to send back the items he had sent me for it and he declined. Did he string me up publically for it? No. It was just forgotten about.

I've done a few deals here and on ebay with very reputable sellers and ended up with subpar merch. It happens. It's a fact of trading and buying. For every one of those bad deals I've had 10 good deals. Shit happens. I've purchased a few things from the EQ in the past w/ no problems and would not hesitate do so again. "Punks like these" does not apply here, this is someone with a good rep who has been on these boards for years.

Yes, if someone is truly ripped off they are doing the rest of us a service by letting it be known. But from what I've observed these "MemberX ripped me off" threads are usually just a cry for attention. How pathetic.
