I think right now you buy those in one of the stores, right? It would be kind of cool if we could use them to show everyone at a glance which systems we own. One quick glance and you could get a decent idea of someone's collection.
Of course, to do that, it would probably be a good idea to lower the prices on them (or even make them free), and have an unlimited supply.
What does DP think? Yes? No?

That's what a sig is for.
If people choose to buy the systems they own, then splendid - but it's just a shop, just like any other shop. Some people buy only their favorites and leave off the ones their inner packrat made them buy. Me, I plan on buying only the systems I hate, just to confuse everyone and be different and kewl like that.

I like the systems being expensive, makes them all the more fun to collect :)
For many of us here there is just not enough room. Theres enpugh room to view what 8 items. What of the people with 20 or 30 + systems, it just wouldn't work.
Although I'm still waiting for a neo geo to purchase in DPs store.

For me, the three consoles in my signature are the three consoles that I am seriously collecting for. (hence, the other section of my signature)

I'm saving up for a Megadrive. Not long to go now.
It would be nicer if they were cheaper, but the high price just makes them a higher target to reach.

What about the people who saved up on their mesetas, therefore skipping lots of other items/jobs to buy and spent thousands of mesetas on their systems? Are you going to refund them? Personally, I'd be pretty pissed, if I had bought any systems and others could get them for free now.

I like the idea but ultimately I think it should be a personal choice, and I don't want to devalue the current system shop or the inventory system in general by handing out the icons. For most people it's kinda fun to "earn" them!
Besides, I think everyone has a chance of showing their colors through an expression of characters, games, AND systems. This way gives you a lot of elbow room to share your broad tastes.
