I'm trying to figure out the name of this PS1 game I remember seeing a long time ago but I'm totally stumped. I saw it on the shelf at the at Best Buy around 1997 and it was in a jewel case and not a longbox. I'm almost positive it was a 3/4 isometric shooter and it might have something to do with robots or something. I think it could be pretty rare now too because I've never seen it in the 4 years that I've been collecting PS1 games. I almost got it too but I picked up Broken Helix instead. x_x

I know the info is vague but does anyone know what game I'm talking about?

They made Viewpoint for PS1?

EDIT: I see they did make it, but the only version I could find is the longbox. Did they make a jewel case version of it?

They made Viewpoint for PS1?
Yes. It's supposed to be worse than the Neo Geo game though.

Yes, there are both longbox and jewel case versions of it for the PS1. :) MUCH better on the MVS or AES tho...

And more playable on the Genesis, too.

I remember some game that reminded me of atari's "Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters" But maybe it is not syndicate (never played it but seen pictures)

Is the game with a spaceship or person? Am I way off the mark here?

It could also possibly be Project Overkill. If that's the case, you were smart by not getting it... the game is terrible.

YES! That's it! Thanks TGP. :)

Now has anyone actually played this game? Is it any good?

I have the Saturn version and I'd tell you to avoid it unless you really enjoy just blowing stuff up. Controls are terrible (probably due to the Saturn controller) and the graphics are pretty grainy. Decent pickup if you can find it complete less than $5, but not really worth going out of your way to find.
