since my last poll was pretty entertaining, i'll throw this one out to those who played and enjoyed the more action-oriented rpgs square made in the early 90s.
note: mana is the us version, the japan number 2. the entire series doesn't count.
the stats:
mana +:
third character
better music
evermore +:
more personality to characters
basically, a further fleshed out story
Come on, you get a poodle for a partner in SoE. No contest.

SoE all the way. I've loved this game since the first day I played it. Cool characters , funny script, time travel, awesome graphics, great all around.
I have SoM, but I never really got into it, I'll play through it someday.

thats not even a battle, secret of mana all the way
Evermore had great atmosphere, story and stuff... But Mana had Multiplayer, and a decent Magic-System.

Easy poll for me. Secret of Mana is much better. I like the gameplay much more and the graphics looks much better.
Secret of Evermore was not bad. But the last Stage was boring and looks like the Future (what is not good for Adventure or RPG games I think). And the Dog looks stupid in the last Stage. Most other Stages were great and its interesting, that every Stage has his own style. But at all it was not so good like Secret of Mana.

Secret of Mana all the way. Multiplayer did it for me. Able to play with two friends in an action RPG?
I'm sold.
That being said, I loved the graphics in SoE. It just had a cool feel to it.

This is going to be a landslide. Even if Mana played like a turd, I would vote for it just based on the soundtrack.
SOM no question. SOE was a decent game, but a pitiful excuse for a SOM sequel for North American gamers.

Voting on the underdog here. Evermore is unique (mostly) in setting, Mana is another fantasy land (even if there's VCRs and subways in it).
Just an opinion. SoE does have it's demerits, but ultimately I'd rather play it.

Actually I just finished Evermore this morning. It started off pretty good and then got REALLY boring. The boss battles were some of the easiest battles of any game I've ever played. And I'm I the only one that found the dog annoying?
Mana all the way.
