Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that these are almost completely GONE from Ebay now. The only one I could find now is just the DS cart (not a full press kit) and with 6 days left, it already has 16 bids and is at $60.00...There are NO full press kits to be found anymore. I thought they would get scarce but this was really quick for them to completely disappear. What do you guys think? Were do you think the value is headed on the DS cart itself and also on the press kit?

Well they are finite and this limited stuff after its had a short run wont be found. Just go looking for the ilovebees dvd that came out less than a year ago (for Halo 2). Good luck there (and it had a smaller run than the Zelda trailer). Once us collectors pluck down on these we're not gonna get rid of them unless we really need to. This is no different.

Don't expect the price to drop till the game comes out.

what? If anything that's when it'll probably skyrocket in price.

Erm yeah... never underestimate the vagaries of desperation and need!

Got two complete press kits right after E3 for a total (including shipping) of $200. Looks like a mighty fine price in light of this now.

And no extra cost shipping to me here in essence as my lovely assistant Kris "Queen of the Quiznos" Roper mailed it to me after having them delivered to her place.

Likewise for the Mario Kart DS stylus and a whole host of other goodies. And that my friends is why I like the kitty ;)

But yeah back to the subject at hand... have we come to an agreement on how many yet? I thought 1,000 initially but could be as many as 5,000. Still, shows people want them still.

errm sure let's arbitrarily make up numbers. I think that's fine as long as we aren't trying to come to an agreement.

I think there's 500 of them.

I think if there was only 500 of them floating around, they would be selling for MUCH more than they already are...

Yeah, I would love one too, the full press kit, but am in no way willing to pay that much. (I probably will like 5 years down the road for more than triple what they go for now)

Sure, perhaps shortly after the release. But the thing thats driving the price so high isn't just the rarity, its the fact that it's the trailer for a highly anticipated game that isn't out yet. If this was the trailer for Wind Waker with the same rarity do you think it would be going for so much? No way.

I have to disagree with you Promophile. I think what's driving the price is the fact that it is the first and only limited edition DS cart in circulation right now, and of course the rarity is tied to this fact. There will be other limited edition DS carts in the future to be sure, but this one will ALWAYS be the FIRST, and nothing can change that.

...just my two cents...

And I think that if I grew golden armpit hair that you lot would be all over me to trim it but lets not use such incredulity in our logic k? :-P

And about all the ones that collector's shelled part of their soul for and bought off ebay are no longer "floating around" simply because now they are bolted down, locked under chains somewhere probably (Am I right collecters?). It looks like the initial flash in the pan of these on ebay won't be happening again. Don't be suprised when it turns out harder to get on ebay than starfox and Donkey kong competitions. :D

Very good point Chronodriftersx. I only hope you are right now...about the rarity of the DS cart...not your golden armpit hair O_O :D
