Hello Digital Press Forum goers,
This is my first post but I have been a long time reader of this web site. Me and my schoolmates are making a film based on early 90's classic gaming, in my opinion the glory days of Video Games. Our 2 and a half hour epic dubbed "AGES" (sega backwards) will begin production stages next monday and will probably go into next year. The movie will be a mix between Wayne's World and The Wizard (minus the cheesiness and power glove), it takes place in late 1992 and revolves around the Sega CD being released, it contains a lot of great metal/hard rock tunes, and movie spoofs up the wazoo.

I came here really for three reasons:

Number One, is I wanted to know what classic gamers want to see in a movie based on video games. I know the usual "All your base belong to us" gag would apply here, but is there a game that you believe didn't get enough credit or a game that you think should be bashed to hell? Do you have any fond video game experiences or stories from the past? Please feel free to tell me your ideas and suggestions.

Number two, I have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find answers to and are essential for this film to happen.
Question 1:
What is the exact release date of the Sega CD?
Question 2:
Where can I locate some old sega commercials in the highest quality, without banners or logos blocking the image?

Number three, I am asking for any help at all with this movie, if you have anything video game related lying around your house or in your collection that you have no interest in, i would appreciate it if you could send it to me.

In exchange for any assistance whatsoever I will put your name in the ending credits, but if you donate any items to me I will send you one of our profesionally created limited edition donator dvds on top of the movie credit.

Some items I am specifically looking for are:
Any Nintendo Power Magazines from the years 1992,1993,1994,1995
Any Sega Visions Magazines 1992,1993,1994
A Sega CD Model 1 Box
Any Sega CD games in Decent condition
An Old School Black and White Gameboy
A Gamegear in any condition
Sega Menacer Gun, working or non working

If you wish to contact me privately email me at mrfilms@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Peter "Thrash" Montoulieu

Sounds cool. Some of the things you are looking for are easily and cheaply acquired, especially the Game Boy/Gear.

So I take it no one can answer my questions or give me some stories? :hmm:

If you think im really trying to scam anyone you are sadly mistaken. Now I really don't want to turn this into a flame war, so please keep from posting comments like that.

Haha and I actually thought you were making an AES movie.

if you realy are making a movie - don't bash anything - but take a pot shot at the censorship campain that Leiberman started if you want

are you sure you can use the name AGES since sega releases games under that name?

Actually as long as I dont use the Sega name, for example, SEGA AGES The Movie, then I should be in the clear, I am using the sega font though.

I was just poking fun. I didn't mean to insult you or anything. I'll remove my post and then re-post here in a quote (I hate it when I comment, then people edit the post above, leaving the comment senseless).

Once again, my apologies (but if you still wanna send me that AES stuff... go for it!).

What a coincidence! My friends and I are making a movie about the Neo-Geo AES. Please send boxed systems, complete games, and any other memorabilia here:

Thank you very much for your help! All contributors will receive a piece of paper! with my name on it! and you can keep it for years! then sell it on ebay for millions of dollars! after i become a big movie-star-producer-guy!

Thanks again!

(by the by, that's not my actual address... BUT if you can guess what address it is, you win!)

Sounds like a cool idea. I might be able to send a Game Gear your way, as I have two of them (Missing both battery covers, but it still works great).

And tux, I believe thats the address for Stick Stickly back in the older days of Nickelodeon. What do I win? :D
