According to the online guide here, Pokemon Yellow is listed as a monochrome Game Boy game. Although that is true for the original Japanese version, the US and European versions were actually Game Boy Color games and should be marked as such. Although the coloring is limited, it still functions as a GBC cart (IE you are not able to select your palette at start-up).

Should be moved to here.

Thanks. I'll do that.

At first I was torn over where to include Yellow. While it has an optimized color pallate when played on the GBC, it was packaged and marketed as a GB game and has no other GBC enhancements.

After doing a Google image search for Pokemon Yellow, it appears that there are 2 box variants. The more common one has "Game Boy" on the box, but there were also some boxes with "Game Boy Color" on them. I assume the actual cart is identical in both boxes. When I bought the game months after its release, my box was a "Game Boy Color" version.

I've seen the GBColor box scans online but have yet to see one in person. Any chance you can scan the front and back? I'm very curious since I had written off the online pics as bootlegs (and there are tons of GB bootlegs out there, especially Pokemon titles)

I don't have the box anymore, but I'm pretty sure it had the "Game Boy Color" on it.

I'll keep an eye out for one but if you come across one online pm me a link. The only one's I've seen were obvious bootlegs and the stock photo that eBay has and I've had litterally hundreds of copies of the game pass through my hands.
