Does this game come with an instruction book? I just started playing it and I noticed that I don't have one. I bought it used.

I'll just add that it's quite a good looking manual too, full colour on all pages.

As an extra tidbit, the 4 disc art differs from NTSC to PAL, mmm hmm.

Was there ever a game released on psx, or any system (not including pack ins) that didnt include a manual of some sort?

PAL version has two manuals.

You don't really need it if it's just for the sake of playing the game. Eventually, you'll get a girl with a hammer to join your party. Don't throw her out. Keep her in your party at all times with the intention of maxing her out. If you do this, she becomes the strongest member of your party once you hit the end boss. You'll be very glad that you have her.

Man, I hated that hammer chick. I can't remember WHY, since it's been like, years since I beat it, but I recently started playing again, so I'll let you know why I hated her so much when I get her.

I see this game at EVERY Gamestop I go to. Is it a good game? Is it a gameplay RPG or a "story" RPG? I remember it being pretty cheap but nothing stood out to me to entice me to purchase it.

Its actually a pretty decent RPG. Its not one of the all time bests but it holds its own. Nice graphics, good story, good gameplay and the packaging / cd art is awesome =).

I always thought it was a really good game. Decent story and decent gameplay, some really pretty cutsences, but cutscenes mean voices, and voices demand subtitles, which their are none(That could just be me tho). I thought it was a pretty good game and I had always thought that it was worth buying and playing atleast once. But that's just what I think.

Yeah, the game does a very good job of explaining things and learn as you go type of things. Mainly I was just curious because I would like to have a complete copy. And yes, the disc and cover art are sweet!

I would recommend this game to anyone who likes RPG's. Personally I think that it's a great game. I really like the battle system too. It keeps you alert and you do need some good timing to pull some of the moves off. (especially the counter attacks!)

Recently I've been on a SNES kick and when I first saw the opening CG sequence I was quite impressed! @_@

Its a good RPG but I will warn you that its alot like FF VII in the story. The gameplay does differ enough though to make it its own game and not a complete clone.

Hey, as long a Plot Device, I mean Aerith, isn't in it, I'm all good.

I'll pick this up next time I see it.

I liked this game enough. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to play it in nearly 2 years, so I'm still on the 2nd disc, but it's a PS1 RPG, 'nuff said. And it's worth it at the price, too. You won't find it more than $15 anywhere (we still have 3 copies in my Toys R Us and they're $14.99, but it's on the Green Tag sale so it's an additional 30% off. GameStop probably has it used for $10 or $15...maybe even less)
