for me it would be a tie between nintendo and microsoft. i also am a big fan of punctuation.

Nintendo is my personal favorite.. I loved Nintendo games as kid and I will continue loving them until the day I die. I also really love Sega's first party games for their older systems, but I don't know if that counts in this thread.
Sony and Microsoft games never really do anything for me.

I would say nintendo...but that choice isn't really there.
sony has god of war...
microsoft has halo...
still the big N has churned out a lot more
if sega was still considered a 1st party I would say it was a tie between them and nintendo...so many memories

I'll say sony because I dont really think the xbox is all that good of a system. But sega would be one and nintendo second followed by sony.

Nintendo, of course... Aside from the excellent games they've managed to make, I'm in love with their views on the industry, it's direction / their part. I'm glad they distance themselves from the competition, and I'm glad they are open to having competition.
Microsoft too. They just seem open to their developers, be they internal subsidiaries or third party partners, I think they allow them almost total creative control. If ever I were to seek help from a first party company, I'd definately go to Microsoft. Their games average on the so-so side. A few excellent titles (developed- Crimson Skies, Forza, Phantom Dust - published- Fable, Kingdom Under Fire, Jade Empire) the average, experimental titles (Blinx, Brute Force, Tao Feng) and, of course, the terrible (Azurik, NightCaster, Kakuto Chojin)... I guess I'm more a fan of their policies than their games.
I can't say much about Sony. Haven't played many SCE games. God of War, Kinetica (Spelling?, that cybernetic racing game), Primal (is that SCE developed?)... those are the only games that have really stood out to me. The original Jak and Daxter was also an excellent reason to have purchased a PS2, especially durring at the time of it's release. I can't say I'm a fan of their policies toward gaming either, because I'm not. If there is a reason I have any hatred towards Sony, it's their view of the industry.
So yeah, Nintendo = / > Microsoft, IMO, Sony a very distant third.

Nintendo. As much as I like Halo, Nintendo has just made so much more. Mario is a gaming icon, and is still an active one by being featured in many Nintendo games as the main character. Zelda was one of the most innovative games for the NES, at least it was for me. Even though I played the SNES version of Metroid before I even knew there was one on Nintendo, it still satisfied me as much as a game could.
In short, Nintendo is the best first party game developer, IMO.

Isn't Halo actually 2nd Party though? It's not from Microsoft but from Bungie. But Bungie is like an exclusive to Microsoft but doesn't neccesaryly mean they are Microsoft.

Yes, these aren't the best, but I don't think Nintendo is all that they used to be. They are almost exactly like Sony right now. Most of the newer Nintendo games for handheld are only published and not developed, and the recent console Nintendo games have been dissapointing at best. I won't be playing Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Pikmin, or Donkey Konga down the road, but Socom, God of War, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus (WHen it comes out), and Halo 2 will all keep my attention years down the road.

Horrible poll, but I would say Nintendo, Sony, and then MS in that order.
Nintendo is obvious, and Sony for ICO, the Jak and Ratchet & Clank games, and God of War. MS, well, Halo has never done anything for me, and I can't think of anything else from them that has stood out. Most of my XBox games are third party titles.
I like all 3.....but I'm sitting here playing Mario Golf on my Cube while I post. It's a blast, and that's what most of Nintendo's games are. Silly and fun as hell.
