alright, I am planning on doing this when a white PSP comes out in NA... but i was wondering, does this really work? I mean, does everything have to look brand new or something? Anybody ever try this?

You mean legitimately, or buy a new one return the old one with the new receipt scam type of thing?

AFAIK They've been scanning the system barcodes since the PS2 release to make sure the same system bought is the system you're returning.

I think what the poster means is returning a used PSP that was bought new at Wal-Mart, and I assume with a receipt. If you're going to do that, I'd say definitely make sure it's as perfect looking as possible, even though the customer service people aren't an expert on evaluating condition by any means. If you're doing that, make sure you tell them it stopped working, because otherwise they'll put it on the shelf for some unfortunate shopper to buy new. I'm not sure, but I do think I've heard that they only allow 90 days for console returns, so that might screw you.

As for the serial numbers, well, lets just say it's not too hard to swap those serial number stickers on a PS2 :D

Memo to Muffinman:

You should know better than to post a topic like this. And you should know better than to try to scam a store in the way that you described. But since you obviously don't know better...

KNOCK IT OFF.
