After a lot of thought and sadness I have decided to sell my NES collection. I am not one of those clowns who list as complete then list in the description say I am missing the Panesians but I do not think they were a US release.

I have all 786 US released games
Yes that included the 3 Panesian game, Myriad (complete), and Stadium Events

I have all 31 PAL only releases
Yes I have Mr Gimmick and Rodland

I have 19 reproductions

I have one proto (Moon Ranger)

If anyone is interested in making a SERIOUS offer feel free to PM me and yes I am going to have pictures here in the next few days...

If I get no serious offers then to ebay it goes because if some clown can get 11000 for their collection WITHOUT the Panesians, Stadium Events, and Myriad I think I can at least hit that mark ;)

nermal

The collection is not going to be split up... I am going to list it on Ebay as a COMPLETE collection (something I do not think anyone can say)

I was going to do local pickup but if I must ship I will

All of the games are cart only except for Gyromite, Stack Up, and Myriad

All of the carts are in good shape and only a few have stickers on them

Under a year for the US only collection then I took about a 2 year break and decided I should collect the PAL only releases, which took about 6 months because Mr. Gimmick was a pain in the ass to find 8-)

Wow...

you would need a REALLY big box (or two), take them to the local PO and get an insured shipping quote. I'd go Priority and people would have to get over the presumed obscenely-high-but-actually-quite-reasonable shipping charges.

if i were you, id have the games all "professionally" packed and shipped via mailboxes etc or one of those companies. anybody can do as good a job as they do, but if you have a private company pack everything and have the packages fully insured, there can be no complaints from the buyer. and if someone is looking to pick up all these games, they're not going to care if shipping is a bit steep as long as it's done right. i'd personally think youd be shipping about 10 separate packages to fit all the games. you want everything to be nicely padded and you don't want boxes to be overly heavy. heavy boxes really piss off shipping people.

The one that went $11000 had roughly 400 games complete. Complete more than doubles the value of most games.

With something this large I think your best bet would be to NOT use the Post Office! You might want to try one of those services like NAVL, or whatever people use to ship Arcade machines. They ship an entire arcade for around $200 I think, so a complete NES set would probabley cost similar to that. Fedex ground would be a good option as well, as long as the person isn't on the other side of the country.

Sounds reasonable - I was thinking a set can't really be worth more than 7k loose, would you agree with that? I've really never seen an auction for a complete collection, but basically if you add up the games worth 50 bucks and up and that'll be 3500 give or take. add in a few pity grand for the rest of the crap and actually 7k may be too much. Sound right? (assuming all loose).

I have no complete collection (though I'm working on the "easy" ones, US 32X and Jag CD :P) but I would be VERY dissapointed if I had to sell it, even in this early stages (20 32X, 9 Jag CD).

So good luck finding someone that can apreciate what it's worth... and has the BIG BUCKS needed to have it as well :D

I will have to join the "Do you have a pic" wandwagon?? :-D

Well, the big 5 (Panesians, S.E., Myriad) would bring in $2000+ alone. Then, add in Caltron, BB2, Flint2, Secret Scout we're talking another $500. After that, I'd bet there are 25 games that are $50 each (factor in the PAL onlys and some others DW4, Bonk, Little Samson, etc). That's $1250 more.

I'd go another 50 games at $25 ($1250 more) and 100 games at $10 each ($1000 more). We're sitting at $6000 right there. Roughly 600 games left and given a generous $5 average each would add $3000 making the total $9000. That would be what I consider top dollar for a complete but cart only set. Broken up and sold loose it could probably pull in $12000+.

Finally, I apologize if the above is crapping on this post and I will gladly remove it.

You are not crapping on anything 8bit, I was actually thinking of selling everything seperate but I do not want to spend the next 4 months shipping games

I just want to sell it all and get it out of the way sooo bad!

I am off work tomorrow and will take pictures and probably list it as ONE auction

Open an eBay store, and buy a whole bunch of bubble mailers. Sell each game individually and get the maximum amount of money. Some games would have to go cheap but it will be worth it in the end.

I understand man, but sell the rares loose and the commons in a lot, that would do,if you put them on eBay lemme know.

I think that's best also - I think there's a discount involved on a bulk purchase that big, I think you short change yourself when you ask people to shell out 10k all at once. I'd say sell the top 25 or 50 games loose and the rest in alphabetical 50 game blocks, with all of the auctions running concurrently, so that you have the whole set for sale at once and yet people are able to pick and choose what they want. Ultimately I would have to think you'd get more money that way and it will also be a manageable number of auctions for you.

Bronty's idea sounds like a good one. This way people will want more than one of your lots and the bids will keep coming.

Well,

I think 8-bit is right about selling it piece by piece on eBay, especially if you give discount on combined purchases. Most people tend to buy multiple games at the same time to save on shipping! (especially people like me that are not in the states).

DL-collectables sold his collection a couple years back like this in just a couple of weeks, and by the sound of it.. he made out like a bandit.

Selling the collection as one will only devalue it. Most people don't have the funds to buy an entire collection at once, so you'd have less bids.

just me $0.02..

Selling on eBay is easier said than done. I'm for selling it all at once. Breaking it down takes so much time to list, so many questions. He will probably lose out on a few thousand if he breaks it apart, but what is his time worth?

If he completed it that fast I'm sure money isn't a big deal. A month of his time isn't probably worth the extra cash & hassle.

Do you alway do everything to save an extra dollar, no who cares, it's only a dollar. Well some people feel the same way about a few thousand dollars =)

definitely - but I think that's why you break it down into 20-50 auctions. Happy medium between money and time.

I don't think it is. This guy is a Admit over at Nesworld and has a different name (not Panesian).
I do agree that he sounded like Panesian when he said he got his entire collection in 6 months (bragging).

He changed his name from Pan_nes_ian to QBbills a little while ago. I never had a problem with the guy, I never really saw what all the fuss was about.

Nevermind, I have been proven wrong.

For whatever reason Panesian (QBbills) has ALOT of enemies on the NES online scene. Maybe it is his constant bragging or whatever.
Neverless he has an AMAZING collection, but I find it weird that he has never posted posted pics of it anywhere online.

Don't count me in that group. We did yell at each other for a while, but that's passed. He's actually not that bad of a dude.
