Several completists went nuts and fought to the death. The last man standing spent too damn much money. That's what happened.

Dude,
You already know how I feel about this one. HOLY FUCKING SHIT is the only thing to say about this auction!!!!! Worst buy in the HISTORY of video games on Ebay. I thought I had seen it all, but this just blows everything else out of the water! @_@
.....Waits until people start listing their copies of DKJrMath like crazy now.

I agree with the OP and imanerd. WTF is the word of the day, kiddies... I wonder if the "winner' realizes there is no game included.

Apparently the DKJr Math box is worth more (well to some people at least) than any other game in the entire NES library.
I guarantee this is just a fluke since someone must have REALLY wanted that damn box.
Sweet tapdancing Jesus, that's insane. I would never, ever pay that much for... hell, anything... let alone an NES box. X_x

I think something fishy is going on here. Look at the bid history. The winning bidder started by bidding only $3.25. He then came in at the end to bid $10 more than the highest bidder ($795). I would guess that the seller changed his mind after listing the item and had a friend (or another one of his ebay accounts) bid high so he could keep it.

There is nothing that can explain how I feel right now better than 0.o
That's about how it is. Worst purchase on Ebay ever.

What I think might have happened goes like this. Two people both really wanted it and had the same idea. I will bid an extremely outlandish bid and win it regardless because noone in their right mind will bid more than x amount of dollars. X amount being whatever this box usually goes for. I think the winner had no intention on paying that much and had no clue someone else would have the same idea. LOL

As soon as I saw the auction I went to file....save as....
I always save crazy or super rare video games auctions as you will never see anything like them again.
This is truly the craziest!

i contacted the buyer and here is what he sent me back..
Hello. The answer to your questions is NO. I meant to bid $130.00 but I entered $1300 by a mistake. I have contacted the seller and I am waiting to hear back from them. I hope they are understanding. Do you know where I could get this game complete at a good price?? Thanks.
still the other bidder put $785 on it.. i also contacted him.. i'm trying to get the dirt on what is going on here.. this is crazy.

Hmmm... What I don't understand is why "4_is_the_limit" bid so damn high in the first place. He/she won a COMPLETE Donkey Kong Jr. Math only a little while ago for $105. Usually after I own a game, I don't go bidding 5 times what it is worth on another copy in similar condition.

columbo on the case.. both of them messed up there bids heres what the other bidder sent me..
I totally screwed up when I placed my bid.
It was supposed to $78.50 ..... It ended up as $785 and I tried to retract it but ran out of time. I guess the same thing happened to "Stoutguru" who won the auction. But he definitely won't pay. I'd like to see the feedbacks on this one!
Nice to talk to you.

If I was the seller I'd be PISSED. Mistake or not, I can't believe that BOTH bidders say they 'messed up' on their bids and trying to retract them. The seller did'nt do anything wrong with listing the auction and thought he had two stupid people. What a mess.

if i was the seller I'd be pretty understanding. It would be amazing if someone would actually pay that, but nonetheless I'd still be happy with 130 bucks or so.

Qixmaster is right - I'd be happy if I were the seller and knew I was getting 130 bucks. That's still far too high for this - 80 or so is standard for complete DKMath these days, isn't it (with the value nearly all in the box)?

There's no way he's going to pay that. He'll email the seller, explain he didn't mean to bid that much, and try to work it out. Hopefully the seller will be understanding.

I snagged my complete copy for $28 on ebay a little while back http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4315&item=8194355804
I then traded the box and manual for DWIV and Ufouria carts. I'm a cart-only type of guy :)

No, it would be easier if you would stop being a prick and expecting other people to answer it for you because you're too lazy to read it yourself.

Whats with you seriously? Here I ask a simple yes or no question and you get all attitude. Why? If my question really annoyed you that much you could simply just ignored what I asked about.
