Ukrainian ps1 games?

I just recently returned home from a trip to Ukraine where I was fortunate to get some (somewhat odd) ps1 games. They look pirated at first glance, with a "neogame" label across the border, and orange packaging, yet they were sold in a media store of a modern shopping mall. Could anybody give me any more information about these like how common they are or how legitimate they are? Is there any way I can get it to play on my ps2? (I put Earthworm Jim in and it told me it was an audio cd, but my ps2 doesnt like ps1 games in general)

(I am sorry if the above is confusing, hopefully somebody will be able to understand it and help me out...)

I did a search on google and the forums here and didn't find anything.
I dont have a digital camera to post pics, sorry.

when i deployed to bosnia back in 1999-2000, i picked up a few of these games your talking about for the ps1. they are bootleg copies. being that their not legit, i'd say the value is just in the game play. i had difficulites getting them to load at first and then got the expansion pack that allows to play foreign games(then that worked). i would say you need your ps2 moded before you get those puppies to play. good luck and let us know if you get it up and running. :)

In Thailand even major retailers sell bootleg games. Any Carrefour/Tesco will have GBA multicarts, familclones, modified PS/PS2. Once you make it out of the major western markets I suspect this is pretty much the norm.

I sometimes wonder if ANY GBA cart sold in Thailand is legit. If there are any, I haven't seen them. Every once in a while i'll see legit PS2/XBOX/GC games, but hey also have a nice layer of dust on them.

You will need a modified PS to play those, for sure. Modding your PS2 may or may not do the trick, depending on model and chip used.

As of now, I dont have a digital camera but ill try to borrow one and take some pics. If you care I have Tenchu 2, Earthworm Jim 2, Vagrant Story, and an odd 5 in 1 game that features Metal Slug and other tank games.
