Just tried to play Mario Kart and Metroid Zero Mission today after buying them used last year. They worked fine then but I didn't think twice that I'd have trouble saving my games in them.

Now that I tried to sit down and really play them I realized they're not holding my save. Is there anything that can be done? Not looking forward to spending 60 bucks before taxes and shipping to buy new copies of these online...

What type of save technology do they use? If it is battery backed SRAM, then you can always try replacing the battery.

I've got a Klonoa: Empire of Dreams GBA cart with the same problem--it won't hold a save. I'm going to open it up and see if the battery is loose. If it's not, then I'm going to try replacing the battery.

If that doesn't work, then I'm going to try to fight the temptation to trade it in at Gamestop. ;)

True...You could buy one at Gamestop, and trade back the broken one as the one you bought, saying it won't save.

Disclaimer: Illegal, and I don't condone it. ;)

Looks like EB sold me two illegal bootlegs.

Hoping to return the favor somehow, at the very least I'll try trading them in at the same EB.
