View Full Version : First ESRB and Sega ratings?
What were the first games to be rated by the ESRB and by Sega's rating system? I know that Donkey Kong Country is one of the earliest ESRB titles, from November of 1994.
I remember a press release detailing Sega's system from May of 1993, so their earliest had to be from around then.

Night Trap--after it was pulled and and put back out again.
Do you guys think the "Deep Water" rating should be brought back? I think Eternal Champions Sega CD was the only game that had that. It could be the mark of all violence, sex, drugs, etc. It's way cooler than AO or M. Sharks are cool!

Deep Water was the company that programmed the game -- it was rated M.

I say bring back RSAC. Nothing beats a ratings system that has a label of Wanton and Gratuitous Violence.
Deep Water was the company that programmed the game -- it was rated M.
Deep Water was supposed to be the Mature game division of Sega.

Heh, while looking at some of my old genesis carts, I found that older versions had the sega rating system of Teen or 14, and the newer versions or reprints had M for mature. I thought that was interesting.
