Hey I just found this site and am glad to find some avid collecters. Anyway, I want to really start trying some "new" systems and games. What would you guys reccomend in terms of bag for your buck? I mean what systems + games that I can pick up for like $20, and are easier to find then a McDonalds?

Only thing comes to mind right now is the PSX. With a thousand games, it's a challenge to complete this system.
NES and Atari 2600 would have been on the list but the game aren't as easy to find and sometimes when you do find the games, they are way overpriced.

Probably some the easiest right now is PSX, or even NES and Dreamcast since you an find those around mulitple locations.

Yeah...PSX is probably cheapest right now. For example, I have a whole stack of pretty decent PSX games, all mint, that I'm selling for $10-12 each right now in the buying and selling forum, and I'm about to post em on eBay as well.

I see ALL of these religiously around these parts:
NES
SNES
Genesis
PSX
N64
DC
They all can be found system & games, in the 20-30 bracket. If you only shop at game shops and ebay, then cost will surely be higher. Hit up all the local Pawn/Thrift/Flea Markets/Yard Sales that you can weekly for best results. It helps to verse yourself in other systems, and snap up great deals even if you don't collect it personally. They can be beneficial down the road as you start to trade, or even for reselling on ebay. Limit yourself to $10 for 90% of those games, few are truly harder to find than that. Ebay is not always the best judge for gauging prices. A common, popular game, which brings $40 on ebay, is NOT a good deal if bought for $35 at a Gamestop. It's a good deal when you find one complete at a yard sale for $6! Be patient.

You just answered your own question. Have you ever heard of
dcemulation.com or consolevision.com both
sites have emulators for the Dreamcast. Meaning you can
take what roms you found on the net and burn them to a CD
to run on your Dreamcast.
DCEMULATION.COM has 26 different emulators and some are so
damm easy to burn.
Besides...if your like me. You won't get those NES games to work in
the NES. I have never been able to.

Collecting games is a bad habbit that leaves you empty inside. You should take the games you have and take them to a Thrift Shop and then go home and thank your lucky starts that you stopped before it was too late. IM me and let me know which Thrift you take those horrible games to. :D
It's the 12 step...do it now!
